WiFi2HiFi is on the bus

Sounds interesting...allows you to stream audio from a Mac (no PC at this point) to your iOS device. Requies the WiFi2HiFi app on your Mac, but that's free.

Don't buy the app if your Mac runs anything higher than 10.6. It will NOT work.
I bought the app a while ago only to find out the mac client is stuck at 10.6. Bummer.
Edit: There is a new client that works with the 2.0 version: http://www.cleverandson.com/wifi2hifi2.html

  • Doh! Found out the hard way!

  • Maybe you could ask apple for a refund. I didn't try at the time but chances are you can get your money back.

  • I'll certainly try.

Hmm, it seems they made a new version (2.0) of the app that does work with 10.7 upwards. So if that's what you got it should work with their new mac thingie. Unfortunately the 2.0 is a paid upgrade for owners of the old one. What a stupid thing to do. Here's the link to their newer site where you can dl the mac app: http://www.cleverandson.com/wifi2hifi2.html

  • Thks for that @Munibeast. I'll try it when I get home from work.

  • That did the trick. Thanks @Munibeast for the help.

  • @funjunkie27 I'm glad I could help. Going to get the new app soon myself.
For video streaming I have been using streamtome with the mac client called servetome. I think it was free as well and it works pretty well.

  • Thanks again guys. My main interest in wifi2hifi was AB compatibility. I'm hoping that will allow me to pull samples from my Mac, and that seems to be working mostly, although I'm having problems in getting audio from Logic, which was one of the main apps I was hoping would work. I might look into some of the video apps, if they don't take up much space.
