Audulus for Audiobus 3!

It's in beta right now but working smoothly! It'll be out very shortly. We're working on AU implementation as well, too, so you can have multiple instances of it running at once!

Stay tuned here for more updates when it drops :)

  • Nice. Audulus running in beatmaker would be amazing

  • Sweet! Will it work in all slots? MIDI page too?

  • :)

    Any word on Link support?
Though I suppose if you get AU support, then hosting in AUM to sync with Link would be an option ;)

  • @srcer - yep, that's coming along too!

In all slots? Could you clarify?

    Also, MIDI page?

    Totally!

  • Great news :) yes Audiobus 3 midi receiver and sender would be nice for the future too.
But then if it's an AU, it should also work as a midi receiver anyway hopefully....

Yeah it will definitely be able to receive MIDI - sending MIDI is something that will come up in a next update.

  • @Audulus_Mark super excited for an AUv3 version of Audulus! That will be amazing!

Totally I think that people will love it especially for the effect capabilities - you can make some really sweet sounding Reverbs and delays in Audulus.

    Yes you can.

OK, @Audulus_Mark you finally got me!

Can I buy now or is the new version a new App, so I better should wait?

No you can go ahead and buy it now - this is a free update that's about to come out, not a paid update like Audulus 4 will be.

Also, make sure you sign up on our Audulus forum www.forum.audulus.com when you do - there are lots of patches and good advice available there on how to get started!

  • Cool, thumbs up!

Any time estimate for Audulus 4?
    However vague...

    3 month
    1 year
    2 years
    ...

Might be up to a year, but definitely more than 3 months. When it comes out, it will be on sale for a little while for people who have 3 to upgrade at a reduced rate.

Basically, Taylor is working on 2 other apps right now - one is a Z-brush competitor for iPad Pro, and another is another music app (very revolutionary, can't wait to show this one to you all!). With his time tied up in those, Audulus just needs to have a few more improvements to get into a really great place where most of the "updates" that Audulus gets will be done from within the app. Sampling is something that will have to wait till 4 though.

  • OK, OK, I'm in.

Signed up to the forum a while ago, it was only a matter of time before I upgraded from v2.

    Will rearrange spare time accordingly.

My tax rebate should be spent wisely. ;)

Yissss! Contact me [email protected] if you need any help getting started - I'm doing a livestream tomorrow at 6pm EST. It'll be archived if you can't join us, but it's going to be about basics of modular synthesis with Audulus.

Excellent, will catch the archive due to Aussie timezone.

The AU plan pushes this over the edge for me, I'm going to be getting low level again.

Once upon a time I coded c/c++ and some assembler, seems like a long time ago.

    Oh, it was.

Audulus is written in C++ so you basically are making C++ programs with Audulus! :)

It's a bit close to the day job but I'll allow it!

Another draw is the user library, very impressive collection of ready made stuff to tweak.

  • Been having fun with this. I was about to fire off an email about patch import being broken when I realised I still had v2 installed and it was defaulting to that.

Feel free to ignore the crash reports I've sent. ;)

  • @TheVimFuego Nice! I'm about to update that library too with all the cool new patches that have been posted - also going to make a version that's sorted by module type instead of just author.

    To everyone:

Modular Synthesis 101 Livestream Tutorial today at 6pm EST

    https://www.youtube.com/user/audulus/live

Ask any questions here or live at the video. The video will be archived so if you miss it you can still watch it and get all the great info! This will be a great overview of modular synthesis for anyone who's completely new to it or those who know a little and just want to round out their knowledge. It will also be good for anyone who's new to Audulus and wants to understand the basics of using it.

Just to check, is MIDI Out coming before Audulus 4?

  • Ah I forgot about this thread - meant to just announce it here, but if you didn't notice already, Audulus is now Audiobus 3 compatible - go ahead and update!
