Affinity Photo is now on sale, $19.99 instead of $29.99. Just thought you should know. I bit.

Yes, I just spotted that. It went back up to £28.99 in the UK App Store, but has now dropped back down.

What puts me off is the latest detailed review by a punter who sounds like he knows his onions. Not all bad, just not really good enough at this point. At least, for him.

    Or, see it this way:
Support a relative small company with devoted developers that think that even on iPad there should be a real Pro image manipulation app.
Or, you don’t, and think that a billion dollar companies like Adobe should set up the rules what we will have on iOS - like many cluttered small apps from Adobe that it’s not powerful enough, and, demanding a Adobe subscription...

    We/you make our own choice...

I’m very impressed with Affinity and the companies plan for the future.
We will sooner or later see both Affinity Designer (Illustrator type app) and the new Affinity Publisher that wants to compete with Adobe Indesign...

The future is bright on iOS, and, we are getting more and more powerful iPad...

Thanks for the alert, I snapped it up this morning.

    Yes, I take your point.

Adobe irritate the hell out if me with their half-hearted approach to IOS, and the adoption of the subscription model for the desktop. I will not rent software. My Photoshop is the last one before it went to the cloud, and does all I need on the desktop...allied with a number of other non-subscription graphics programs.

I also like supporting those trying to make something of quality for IOS, so on balance I'll likely give this a chance by the weekend. Price remaining stable.

  • For you that don't think the development of Affinity Photo goes further, here's a list from the beta 3 of version 1.64 on Affinity Photo on iPad:

    Status: Beta Release.
    Purpose: Fixes, improvements, features.
    Requirements: TestFlight Acceptance.
    Mac App Store: Not Submitted

    Hi Guys,

The third beta of 1.6.4 has been deployed on TestFlight. The changes are detailed below.

You can download the App Store version at any time to stop using the beta - and download the TestFlight build at any time to go back to the beta.
