Problem using modstep live record mode [SOLVED]
I tried to record MIDI live into a pattern. Half the notes I recorded didn't show up on the piano roll for editing even when I collapsed it using the Fold button although they were still playing. The first note was off by a half step. This happened every time I tried to record. I made sure that only my MIDI keyboard was selected as the input device so there was no interference from other devices. Anybody else have these issues?

I honestly never have problems recording into modstep. Did you arm the pad ? Also did you choose the correct channel as input ? Is quantise on ? Cause if quantise and link is on it will start recording at the start of the link phase.
Did you check Modstep isn't using a global scale that would hide those notes? I've done this occasionally and changing this reveals the hidden notes
@chisel316 This is actually a valid point. if you are playing notes outside the global scale they will still record but not show up in the piano roll. just set global scale to none and you will see everything most likely.
also please check if the track is setup in drum-mode - and set it to melody if yes. it would not show you any notes that are not mapped to the drums of the track..
this behaviour will be changed in the next major update.
Oh yes. Forgot to mention that. Timely tip there @cblomert
any idea when us testers get access to the new build ? Quite curious to see the new engine
I get the first recorded note delayed thing too, but I also get it in Gadget.....I figured it was just my timing being off and quantise moving the note the wrong way.
Thank you all for your help! I noticed the global scale was enabled for the clip, so I disabled that and now it seems to be working okay.
