That's not upcoming. That's a new feature of the current version of the SDK. All apps that have updated in the last days should have it.
Clock counter in the audiobus tab! I am on ios 6.1.3 and it shows LoopyHD's clock in Cassini, Audioshare, Magellan 3.0. Haven't tested any others.
Very nice feature!
Ok, thanks @ Sebastian. Sorry. First time I'm seeing it.
FINALLY !!!!! I love you guys !
How the heck did I miss it ?
That there is pretty darn nifty!
So can audiobus now be the master clock source?
(I cannot get to the above link in face book to read the content)
Here's the direct link:
Audiobus is not the master clock source, but Loopy can display a visual indicator in other apps that have the newest Audiobus SDK to help you know when a loop is starting and ending.
dont do facebook , dont want something called vine , anychance of learning about this in plain English :-)
When Loopy HD is in the output slot, it is often hard to determine how many bars are left of your composition before it restarts the loop playback.
This is simply a visual cue that helps when you are recording new loops from another Audiobus app into Loopy. It displays the number of bars Loopy is playing back, with a clock-like dial showing its progress in the Audiobus tab.
And @jsb, the vine link is just a brief video showing the new feature in action.
@sebastian is this something we will begin to see from other DAWs? Realtime visual feedback in the AB tab?
@Hmtx .. many thanks
@Hmtx: It really depends on third party developers to make use of this. If you have good ideas stuff that you think should be implemented you might want to email them.
Yeah, this isn't a Loopy feature, per se. It's an AB panel feature: triggers can be animated. It's up to devs to figure out clever ways of animating it. Loopy's is perfect - can not wait to use it.
I know there's an Apple rule to not allow apps to download executable code on the fly. Totally understandable. Out of curiosity, if they were to change those rules and allow an app to download code that Apple had approved (like the AB SDK, hosted on apple servers), is it even technically possible for apps to chose to include it? Or does it necessarily need to be there at compile time?
Apple is hardly ever going to approve code that's downloaded to devices, so the question is kind of pointless. Apps that do this kind of stuff typically disappear quite fast.
This is my request....thanks Sebastian....finally
Sheesh, curiosity is pointless now?
Sorry, I didn't mean to insult.
What I meant is that asking if it's technically possible is pointless when it's sure that Apple will disallow it, at least when it becomes clear what's being done.
