How to Route audio from a multi channel interface.

My Zoom U-44 has multiple inputs. When I just plug a microphone into it and record in some apps, the audio only comes out of one side.

Some apps like Quantiloop have input routing, and for other mainstays like Samplr I will use AUM and AB3 together, choosing my input routing in AUM and then hosting the target app as an output in AB3. Then I route AUM into ab3. Complicated but it works!

So two of my most used apps, reslice and fieldscaper, do not show up as AB output apps. I have been racking My brain trying to figure this out!! I really need To be able to easily route my one mic into these two apps as a mono signal!

Any suggestions?

Record in Aum. Import audio via audioshare. Pretty much the only other way other than what you're doing.

  • That's so silly! Oh well. Can't believe there's not an easy routing solution for multi channel audio interfaces! Maybe BM3 can add this. Off to the Intua forum

  • @VirSyn
It could be possible add this to ReSlice?

Anyone knows if Igor Vasilev has account at forum?

  • Practical solutions, I like that!

  • Just select the input to be mono input, like input 1, not inputs 1+2 and you hear it from both speakers. Bm3 can do this, as can any app worth using

  • Reslice and Fieldscaper do not have this function as far as I can tell.

  • And where ru seeing that in BM3??

There is an audio source selector in sampler, and for audio tracks go to mixer view, open i/o menu and then you get to select ins and outs for each track.
I guess that makes reslice and fieldscaper not worth using then :D I can only laugh at apps that miss this essential feature. Its like a synth without midi input..

  • you can put Fieldscaper into the processing circle of an AUM channel and set input and output accordingly, or did I miss something essential (?)

  • Probably a stupid question but are you using a mono cable from your microphone?

  • I'm using XLR cables

Not sure what you mean, in AUM I only have one input circle and one output , and when I put fieldscaper as an input I can't set the 1-2 or whatever channel

  • If it is only coming out the left hand speaker, it is usually because you are using a mono input into a stereo track. On Fieldscaper where it says Input channels and filters, you can set the input to Left & Right Mono, Left & Right Stereo, Left only and Right only. Have you tried playing around with them?

It works as fx (middle circle)?

  • that's what I meant ... ;)

I looked all over for that, Igors GUIs always give me trouble. Where is that located??

On the main screen, is says "audio input controls" and you can find it in there.
