ROLI: Blocks Series Gear & Sound

Anyone bought any of the gear?

Newer Seaboard mini looks bad ass.

But the whole thing to get it going right looks like a grand.

But But But, the sounds are sick. I have begun buying some packs to test them out and may be getting a taste..............................

What say you?

  • Yeah, the Seaboard Block is very tempting indeed. Will be interested in early adopter opinions when it's out. I wish it had the Equator synth or at least a way to buy it separately. Imagine that on iOS...

i just bought a Roli lightblock. It's awesome. the equator player that comes with it sounds great. i'm still waiting for the full version to become available for purchase to lightpad users. it me a little bit to learn how to set up a third party mpe instrument in abelton. but once i did. wow!
the ipad app is pretty cool wish your could dig a little deeper into the synth , but i wish it had audiobus support. I contacted Roli, and sounds like that may come eventually.
i have the live block, and the touch block is still to arrive at my house.
    overall it's very cool

  • @eross wait a sec has the app actually improved to a competent point? I kept up with the updates for a while but every time it was still a buggy, fiddly mess. Haven't checked in a while

  • The lightwave box really doesn't do much more than running the app on one of the pressure sensitive iPhones. But it does unlock a whole bunch of sound packs.
It's yet another gadget I got cheap on eBay that mainly just gathers dust.

yeah i tried it early on and didn't like it and it was buggy. but now the noise app is cool. i have a touch iphone, so it is similar to the lightpad function. however it would be greatly improved if it could run in audiobus, and had deeper synth diving options.

Well, I am buying IAP's for it, so that is the indicator for me that the app is in the right place.

It has an approach so complimentary to my creative process I am gushing about it.

NOT ONLY THE SOUNDS but what makes the app is the MODULATION MATRIX!!

    FAAATTTT

@RustiK just checked it out again, indeed it is better. What do you mean modulation matrix? Just the way the sounds change sliding your finger around?

    EDIT: found the export
