MusicStreamer

As those who have it will know, MusicStreamer from Stratospherix is probably the best such app for IOS. Recently, it was made AudioBus 3 compatible, which sounded like good news.

Except, something has gone completely screwy with the app. Tracks that play one day refuse to do so the next, or take a minute or more to start. Trying it under AB worked some of the time, then fell silent when trying to add AU effects.

I've tried deleting the app and reinstalling, then rebuilding my 50,000 song library from scratch. This seemed to help on some tracks, while others still refused to play. As a test I tried the troublesome songs with other NAS drive capable File Managers and Streamers, all of which worked. Just, not as good as MusicStreamer used to be.

Crazily, MusicStreamer Lite will work with the same tracks it's big brother choked on.

Anyone else experiencing this nonsense?

  • Hi. We've had another report of this issue and it seems to be unrelated to Audiobus. We have a Beta program for MusicStreamer so if you'd like to use the Beta version and perhaps help us debug the problem, that would be great. Just email [email protected]

Hi Paul. Okay, will do, using my TesfFlight address. At the moment I have resorted to using MusicStreamer Lite, as it's more reliable. No idea why this is happening, as the app used to be solid as a rock.
