@Nikolozi nice update with shiny new preset system for AU. Tested in BM3 - looks and works great. Thanks for this
Cool glad to see this. I don’t think presets should be disintermediated by the host. It makes things so clinical. AU instruments deserve their own preset innovations.
How's the classic dx7 kenny loggins danger zone bass in this?
Alternatively, is there an FM synth available that has that 'Bass 1' preset?
I'm really glad I jumped off the fence and got this. sounds great and stands up well in comparison with my TX-802 and of course much easier to program
Just wish it was on iPhone too!
@Nikolozi any chance NFM will become universal?
When's the Mac audio unit release? There's a total lack of FM synths for the desk top. It's wierd how iOS seems to have cornered the market for FM and the desktop has slim pickings. Dexed sounds close to this, but less user friendly.
What about hybrids RP's Blue 2, IL's Biohazard and NI's FM8 also Reaktors FM ensembles.
I want something relatively cheap and close to the hardware 4ops or 6ops. FM4 is frustratingly only available for Reason. FM8 doesn't sound right to me. Windows has some freeware stuff but not available for Mac. Dexed is the closest.
30% off NFM. This app sounds really really good. But very CPU consuming.
Quiet here so..my fav fm synth. algorytm grit is so handy and clear for synthesis purpouses. I really like to see a little love from dev here again in little things like for example ability for operators envelope to trigger more targets on the playground
My favourite for learning to create New patches.
@Nikolozi I've spent quite some time to create a bunch of presets in NFM standalone but I don't understand how to back up / export / import presets.
Help is highly appreciated, I'm looking for a way to use my presets on my other iDevices now. Thanks!
Currently, NFM doesn't support preset import/export. I know this is probably very frustrating, especially because you spent time creating a bunch of presets for it. I do want to add at least the import/export feature at some point (it's probably the most requested feature), but I'm extremely busy, and my full focus is on the development of Mela. NFM features will eventually merge into Mela, so it's not abandoned or anything. I'm just prioritising moving Mela forward over all other development work.
(I think you could try apps like iMazing to access the app's internal files to back them up, and even copy them into another device NFM's preset container folder, but I haven't tried that sort of tool in a while, so I'm not sure if it will be helpful but thought I'd mention it).
Also, here's my original post about NFM: https://mela.freeflarum.com/d/5-nfms-development-roadmap
(The forum is no longer active and will be archived soon by FreeFlarum. I'm trying to export all the useful suggestions from the site and copy them to the Mela Feedback site).
Thank you.
I have Mela 2 but I don't use it, all I'd love to see is some kind of access to NFM presets, even if it's just iTunes file sharing which would be perfectly OK. This shouldn't be too difficult I think.
I'd be more than happy if you could make that happen!!! And thank you in advance
Just bought this in the sale. Good sounds. However, I'm having an issue where keys are turning grey (sometimes), when I press them, and then they're muted....It's obviously user error/misunderstanding, rather than a bug...Can someone explain please? @Nikolozi
Can you email me a screen recording of what you are seeing? You should be able to find my email in settings or use the contact on my site http://nikolozi.com/contact/.
Oh, maybe it is a bug then?
Yes, will email you in a bit . Thanks man
Update : just played around with it for 10 mins but can’t reproduce it….weird.
If it happens again I’ll take a screenshot and message you
Sounds good
