bm3 - recording audio from apps with sequencers
What's the trick to recording the audio from apps with built in sequencers like patterning, elastic drums, etc? When I load apps like this on a track, the app's sequencer becomes disarmed and bm3's transport won't start the sequencer. With other other ios DAWs I've seen similar behavior when MIDI sync is turned on in the host app. I checked in bm3 and couldn't find a place to turn off MIDI sync but maybe I'm missing it. Any help would be appreciated.
[edit] Ableton LINK turned on in bm3 and in plugins.

Bueller?
I gues we are all waiting for v3.01 to drop..
Any day now...
Thanks @RajahP I wasn't sure if this was an issue that was going to get fixed with the IAA fix in 3.01 or whether it was pilot error.
Unfortunately this issue isn't fixed with the 3.01 update. The issue appears to be with IAA audio and IAA sync. Here's what I found with a little troubleshooting.
*IAA audio with some apps simply doesn't work. With Animoog I get the "Cannot load IAA instrument error" repeatedly.
*IAA audio and LINK works as expected with some apps. One's I've tested so far - Addictive Pro, Arpeggionome, DM2, Elastic Drums
*IAA audio and LINK sync does not work as expected with some apps. The behavior is the same in every case. Load an app, go to the apps interface, push play, nothing happens. No audio, and the sequencer in "plugin" appears frozen. I've confirmed this with DM1, TriqTraq and Patterning so far. It's interesting, with DM1, when you push the LINK button you get the message "DM1 is currently synced to an IAA host. Do you still want to sync DM1 with Link?" It's my understanding that only one form of MIDI sync can work at a time, so the I think this may be part of the problem. I can't find any place in BM3 to turn MIDI sync off.
Note - all of this testing was done by starting a new project and adding a single plugin.
Support request sent to Intua.
Have you tried hosting the sequencers in AUM or Audiobus and sending the audio to BM3 through AUM or AB port?
Should work ok with Link but I've not tried this much in BM3.
No, and I don't mean this in a snarky way, but given what I'm trying to accomplish workflow wise I don't want to bring any other "linking" apps like those into the mix. The endless linking and unlinking of apps dampens my interest in iOS music environment. I may be wrong but BM3 seems to have the potential to leave apps like those out of the workflow. Potentially I could even see leaving AudioShare out of the workflow as BM3's browser and audio editing seem decent. Don't get me wrong I appreciate AUM and AB. Just trying to cut a layer out of the flow if you know what I mean.
I do appreciate you trying to help me troubleshoot @Carnbot .
[edit] - my best guess is that these are early days issues that Intua will sort out. BM3 seems like a really well built piece of kit and the dev seems on it
