Why is E flat root note in Groovebox but not in Gadget or Ableton Live?
And how would I continue with an Groovebox project in E flat in either? I have a very beginners knowledge of music theory, so excuse if obvious!

Eb is the same as D#...they are the same apart from the name.....
A scale does not mix flats and sharps.....all of the black notes on a keyboard have 2 names one sharp (from the white note below) and one flat from the white note above.
Groovebox uses the common used names for the scales....
Gadget is just using all sharps
E flat and D Sharp are enharmonic notes. I.e. They are different spellings of the same note.
Study a keyboard for a bit to see where the names line up.
