This is beautiful. It's like an outtake from the "Unforgettable Fire" sessions. Really great sounds. You should absolutely develop this.
Can I ask: Are you playing that bassline by hand, or is it in a sequencer somewhere?
Thanks! Using a keystep to sequence model 15 (although it could just as easily be done with midisteps), and playing Redshrike on keystep using kbd play function.
@ion677 wow that was so nice! Those chords you use are some of the basic chords I use for making worship songs! If you don't mind, I'd love to borrow your song as an intro to one that I'm working on with the same chord progression. Very sweet pads man!
Go for it! And please share your song when it's done!
Awesome!!!thanks bro will do.
I'm already writing the words to this awesome worship song bro!
Can't wait to share it. I need to get redshrike!
Sounds good
Praise Jesus and pass the oscillation.
And forgive us our synths, as we forgive those who have synthed against us.
Redshrike is defo the dark horse of IceGear's 'four'. Phenomenally deep!
@ion677
Thanks for this.
Really good. Third time I return to the thread to listen.
Something luring with them tones in this song.
Thanks again mate.
Really
Is it basically a better version of Cassini, no?
I mean that in a good way.
Totally! Thanks for listening!
I never used Cassini, only one of their older synths I used was Argon. Everyone raves about Lorentz, Laplace and Mersenne though but I don't see too much about Redshrike. I use all four and I find that while the others excel in their 'shtick', the deepest and richest palate comes from Redshrike. It's also capable of being very aggressive and 'moody' too, which is fun to work with.
Just listened to the track with headphones. Really nice and I LOVE the evolving texture. The bass sound is lovely too.
Constructive criticism: I felt that the bass and texture doesn't completely 'gel'. If I was going to suggest something to blend it together more, I'd slightly bring down the sequenced bass in the mix, put some subtle modulation on it's parameters (midilfos? - which parameters would be a creative decision) and add some light compression to the full mix. That's just the first thing I'd try, could be that it wouldn't work.
