Simulate Bass with Acoustic Guitar

edited September 2013 in General App Discussion

Hi, is there any app for playing a bassline with an acoustic guitar (western)?
Thank your for any tips!

  • JamUp, and probably other guitar amp sims, has a octave pedal that will add one octave below the played note (what a bass guitar actually plays) and even two octaves below. It won't sound exactly as a proper bass, but gets you in the ball park. Or get iFretless Bass and don't use the guitar. IFretless is great.

  • Or try MidiMorphosis..

Plus one on MidiMorphosis, fun app!

  • ModiMorphisis looks cool. Don't know how I haven't heard of that one before now. Definitely going to try that one. Also, ThumbJam will do this. If you already own ThumbJam you have an app that will convert your acoustic guitar to midi and play it as bass (or a drum or whatever instrument you want in there). ThumbJam is one of the best music apps around honestly.

  • midimorphasis is cool playing guitar thru Galileo, Sunrizer, Nlog, you name it!

  • @JR1971 Jam Maestro does exactly this. Plus you can have 2 guitars and drums as well. Theres a free version here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/jam-maestro-free-guitar-tab/id620354621?ls=1&mt=8 but you need the full version to play bass I'm afraid.

  • Hey Dave, haven't seen you around here in a while. Hope you've been working on IAA for Jam Maestro. Lol

  • Haha. My plans for IAA are too big to implement that quickly. And I need an iPad version before that really. I've been getting the app description/keywords etc translated to other countries to hopefully improve its standing there, not easy marketing music apps!! You get that ipad iap prob fixed btw?

  • Thank you all for the support. I will try some recommendations and let you know.
    Greetings

  • Just realised you may have wanted an app that plays a bass line with a live acoustic JR. Jam Maestro is all internal samples/sounds so maybe quite not what you are after actually if thats the case.

  • @Dave Yes, the IAP issue was fixed. Thanks
