Watched this before and it got me excited for performance possibilities. When I tried it I realised that you can only turn macros of the currently active bank, so off I go to sample all my shit while I patiently wait for the hypothetical update that grants global macro control!
I wish someone would make a video of all the shortcuts, tricks and tips that are not immediately apparent. Also, for people used to BM2, how to have a similar workflow to BM3
Oh, that sucks. Well still useful, started setting up a session almost exactly like this dude to try it out and practice and then make more changes. Even if only one back, it works well for drums.
Just set up a session and it worked great. Lots of work but once you get it setup it's so much fun. Then i save as a template and just switch samples.
Wait. Don't you lose the macro assignments when you change a sample? That was the problem I ran into, and it stopped me cold.
[edit] I didn't watch the video yet, so ignore me if that's addressed in it.
Dammit. Haven't tried changing a sample yetjust figured u could
yeh. I discovered that after spending about 3 hours trying to set up macro knobs to try to emulate those of a TR-808. There is a feature enhancement request thread about preserving settings in general over sample changes over on the Intua forum.
They're still useful as heck as long as you keep that in mind. I like that they're saved with the bank for later quick recall into other projects. Global macros would be nice as well, but I don't see it as a big problem to switch to the bank I want to control before controlling it.
Ah ok, so you can easily bring in a prepared bank into a new session. That works, preparing 2-3 good kits. Not as cool as swapping out samples but hopefully they will update that.
Only the knobs linked to the parameters on a particular sample get bunged (along with the settings they're linked to), so if you are only making small changes and don't have a ton of parameters linked, it's manageable I guess.
This guy is God on Beatmaker 3...
oops wrong thread, please ignore
ummm...

holy snap!
thank you very much!!!
Cheers, Beatmakers
A workaround i found for this is mapping bank change buttons in the focus action. But hopefully soon i can use one controller and assign some knobs to multiple banks.
