Updated Apps for iOS 7...known bugs?
After some trouble (and a new install in general) most things working fine again. But i find some apps with bugs. For example in AlchemyMobile (iPhone 5 iOS 7.0). When i start Alchemy in Audiobus there is now an empty window for Alchemy in the side bar where i can switch the apps. I also see now always the red bar for a background app within Alchemy mobile with my provider info included (which normally happen just in the home screen). But this happen at the moment just in Alchemy. So seems the bug is on the Alchemy side?!? Other experiences here anyone?
Comments
Motion sickness. Barfing. Not really bugs I guess, and it's possible to lessen it by doing some changes under iOS settings. As far as music apps go, I haven't noticed anything more then things that are already known to the developers (like a rendering bug in Auria, making the edit window way more sluggish then usual, but it's fixed in the next update so no big deal).
Funkbox in input slot of AB can play/(be heard) with nothing added to effects or output slot.
Also starts playing on it own.
@commonstookie you might have to reset the autobeat start button inside your device settings in Funkbox, seems like some apps had some of their settings go back to their defaults.
Thanks@NoiseHorse
It seems Noisepad and Different Drummer are not happy in iOS 7
@galaxyexplorer "When i start Alchemy in Audiobus there is now an empty window for Alchemy in the side bar where i can switch the apps."
It happens in iOS 6.1.3 as well.
Turnado crashes consistently on saving a preset.
Turnado always done that. It does save the preset tho, fortunately.
Bit of a poor effort so far by Sugar bytes.hope they fix/improve both apps.

I like this tip for increased performance:
To take some of the load off of its weaker hardware, Apple has turned off translucency and other graphical effects throughout the OS in favor of simpler and less taxing transparency. It's worth noting that you can also disable these visual effects on newer iPhones and iPads in the accessibility settings by enabling "Increase Contrast."
...another useful comment that can apply to everyone who wants to improve performance:
I think it's safe to say that if the 4 is still reasonably ok, the 4s is likely quite good on iOS 7. Plus, if it does stutter, you could always turn off the fancy animations to make it look more like the iPhone 4's iOS 7 interface.
Here's another comment that I don't think has been tried, but may be beneficial. Could someone try this and comment back if it improves overall performance? I am not yet on iOS7 (I have an iPad2):
I'm curious if performance gets any better if you turn on “Reduce Motion” under Settings > General > Accessibility. You emphasize several times that it seems to be animation causing a lot of the slowdown, so that might help.
If it does, perhaps Apple should default it to being turned on when iOS 7 runs on the iPhone 4
...a confirmation that these settings changes help with new hardware too:
for what it's worth, my iPhone 5 misses some frames in transitions in iOS7. And it becomes much smoother with 'increase contrast' enabled.
To see this, reply to an email, start typing, and then switch orientation (portrait-landscape). The phone downright shudders. With increased contrast on, the animation is a bit smoother. but, Really? Last year's 5 and thus his year's 5c shuddering in a email app? Here's hoping for some work to 7.01 (or more realistically 7.1)
Apparently one can disable the paralex wallpaper to improve performance too:
iOS7 even feels pudgy on my nearly new iPad Mini, and likely anything else with A5. With the paralex wallpaper on at least, things clearly drop below 30fps way too frequently, and there's just this general feeling of it having to think about things a moment longer than before.
For those who are having problems with sluggish keyboard typing can try this:
Settings > General > Reset all settings.
...also:
Try turning off "Documents and Data" in iCloud. It should make typing faster. You can turn it back on, but if you go to iCloud Storage and Data, it will start lagging again. You then must turn off "Documents and Data" once more.
Apparently this has helped many people.
Overall, a very worthy article, and the comments were also very worthy of my reading time. I posted some of the useful things that I found. The takeaway from it all, is that iOS7 does seem to be slower on older hardware. Hopefully an update will help with this issue.
Thanks for sharing!
After updating to IOS 7 Sample Tank crashes constantly after showing the start screen. Can't find a way to get it started :-(
Dr.Chris do you have the Miroslav sound pack installed?
Hello Dave, thank you for contacting IK Multimedia.
As with any new version of an Operating System, there will be some changes when using audio software/apps.
We are currently in the process of updating our apps for iOS 7, awaiting Apple's approval. We expect to see the SampleTank update live by next week.
We do not recommend specifically whether to update your version of iOS or not. However, we can assure you that our apps will all be compatible with iOS 7 very soon, if they are not already. AmpliTube and iGrand Piano are compatible with iOS 7 as of their current updated versions. Our remaining apps will follow shortly.
@mgmg4871: No, not yet.
@DaveMagoo: Thanks a lot. Just wanted to ask for support, too.
@DrChris Ok, I was asking because I had problems with SP at first because it was trying to download the Miroslav sound pack.
Different Drummer has been updated and seems to be working fine now...new update also coming with further iOS UI refinements. Thanks!
Hi AudioJunkie,
I have a 4 and a 4S and updated both to iOS 7. Both have every optimization I can think of turned on. Reduced motion, no background updates, no notifications on the front page apart from calendar, increased contrast, etc. etc.
The transitions are slower on the 4 vs the 4S side by side, but both are acceptably usable. I don't miss the new features particularly - apart perhaps from AirDrop.
I have audio apps loaded on both and the ones I've played with work OK - but I haven't stress tested them on an iPhone (have been working with a new iPad bought for the purpose to do that).
All in all - the update works fine on a 4.
What I do miss is a decent calendar. All white is err, hard to work with... ;-) Perhaps' Apple's potential recent purchase of Cue will fix that.
Make the color negative...![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
@MusicInclusive: Thanks for letting me know. That's really comforting! :-)
Believe it or not, I made the decision to go ahead and update to iOS7 last night. I bought a new audio interface, an ART USB Dual Tube Pre and I want to make sure it works with iOS7 before my return period ends. Also, I figure I might as well start trying to help document any problems that are out there before Apple starts thinking they have solved everything. Forward is the only way to go, and now most of the important apps are iOS7 compatible so I figure I'll go ahead and do it. ACP 2.0 isn't out yet (what's taking so long?!?!?!), and some of the bugs haven't been fixed, but most reports seem to indicate that things aren't so bad on the iPad 2. Not to mention that the update was sitting there and waiting and taking up what tiny bit of storage space I had.......
...so, initial thoughts:
I've made all of the documented adjustments to speed things up and save battery life. I've figured out how to get around in the new UI. I've started up my audio apps and none have crashed. I've tested out a couple of my most used ones, and things don't seem too bad... I'm cautiously optimistic. I'm currently running version 7.0.2.

Hey, how does one save a preset, I can't find it. Floppy icon takes me to export!?
@technemedia thanks for the continuing updates and features.

Just tap the preset you are currently on and there should be a save preset option at the top.
