BM3 Not Launching in Audiobus

Hello all,
I have enjoyed reading the forum for a looong time, but just recently created an account. I hope I can become a positive contributor to the community.

Quick question...
Has anyone had trouble launching BM3 in Audiobus?
It shows up in the output, but never wakes up.

Anyone have any suggestions for what I can do?
iPad mini 4 has most recent iOS, both Apps up to date as well.
Very weird, as BM2 (and every other app listed) launches fine.

Thanks for any help.

  • Hi tja,
Thanks for confirming it is Ok for you.
Have done the full reboot, after confirming all apps are closed.

Interestingly, I have discovered that if I launch BM3 first and load AB form within beatmaker it launches, but not the other way around...

Seems one must open BM3 first then launch it in AB3... Something is telling me it's the way BM3 start screen 'stops' to give options before loading... make loading it a pain...

  • I always need to load it first outside. This is true with some other apps such as FL Studio Mobile as well.

BTW! It can be loaded in a MIDI slot but doesn't yet accept AudioBus or IAA midi, so no advantage to loading on the midi page.

Yes, I tried some time, but I could not get the MIDI from SoundPrism Pro to play the Synth in BM3....

    Is that not possible yet?

Nope, not in an AB3 midi slot.

However, you can use core midi if you either load SoundPrism Pro in an audio slot, or if you use the Midiflow adapter to take the AudioBus midi out to core midi.

    Like this...

SoundPrism Pro + MidiFlow Adapter on the MIDI tab.

BeatMaker 3 on the Audio (NOT MIDI) tab.

Name MF Adapter Out 1 shows up fine. Select it.

But ... make sure the input is also enabled in the MIDI settings.

Or, more simply this all on the AUDIO tab. SoundPrism Pro not present in the MIDI tab.

  • Thanks a lot for this @wim - Working great with Xynthesizr.

  • Hmmm, wondering if this will help me get Chordflow into BM3... Will have to try.

Cool. I think I remember someone else mentioning they couldn't get Xynthesizr to work with BM3. Maybe they'll see this.

  • Looks good to me. It's not working? Are you sure MF Adapter Out 1 is enabled as an input in the MIDI settings?
