MIDIFlow condition needs bypass toggled to start working

I setup a preset in MIDIFlow where I can toggle on/off the routing of MIDI from my microKEY air to any of my hardware synths by turning the corresponding knobs on my Launch Control XL. I chose to use the knobs instead of buttons because I can see the position of the knobs, but not the on/off state of the buttons. It's working great and allows me to layer any number of synths by turning them on at the same time, but I noticed that when I come back to my iPad after being away, that it stops working until I bypass each flow, press a key on the keyboard to play the corresponding synth and then turn off bypass. It seems to initialize the condition and after that, it works with turning the knob for that session. Does anyone else have this issue? The condition is not working until I bypass it and then turn the bypass off. Then it works.

Here's an example of what the flow looks like:

microKey ---> if CC23 >= 1 ---> synth1
microKey ---> if CC24 >= 1 ---> synth2
microKey ---> if CC25 >= 1 ---> synth3

Thanks,

  • Not sure exactly what you mean but when I load up midiflow and a saved preset, I find I need to re-tap the output midi port even if it has a checkmark next to it in order to get things flowing again.

  • Could you both please send me a message to [email protected]? I've a new version ready that should fix your issues, but it still needs a bit testing. I'd like to include you to my TestFlight group. Thanks!

  • Ive been using midiflows recently, love it. I can work around BM3 midi issues and get my BSP sequencing. Worth every penny, MidiFlow, and just when you havent used it for a while an app appears than needs fixin
    Id like to do testing @JohannesD
    Id like to see if I can make a setup to make the relative midi setting on beatstep's knobs increment AND decrement a controller value. I sent you a support message.
    Using beatsteps with absolute values is awful. It would be nice to work around this failure in the original beatstep.

  • I'm finding quite often tap to fix or "continue without Audiobus?" in midiflow apps when reloading presets in AB3, often needing to jump back and forth a few times for the app to work or be recognised as being in Audiobus.
    They are great though and I want more + more features ;)

    Guys in AB3 does Midiflow adapter need to create itself in the Audio tab? I do t remember it ever doing that. Also when I create two instances of Midiflow adapter only one is created at the audio tab. So confusing man.

  • Then when I try to add GeoShred and iFretless only GeoShred sees the Midiflow in adapter.

  • yeah that's strange, happened to me too yesterday. It shouldn't ever need to be in audio tab as it outputs no audio...

    @JohannesD I'm finding also sometimes when using lots of multiple instances of some filters, when you change one it changes them all, eg scales, sometimes when I change one it changes the others when I want them all independent.

    Plus for scales filter, any chance we could be able to remap exact notes for exact notes in the future? This would be really useful if we could do it the same as in midiflow standalone. Useful for drum key remapping etc.
