ChordUp - Amazing App for Bass & Guitar Strumming!

Just got blown away with playing ChordUp with GeoShred then I though, hey how about trying it out with iFretless? Well to my please this surprise, it sounded amazing!!!!

Had Ruismaker 2.0 rocking away while I strummed some awesome chord on iFretless via ChordUp. With the Chordlock feature, GeoShred and iFretless now have me covers. Oh boy was so excited to find this out today I left a five star review on the App Store!

ChordUp is worth its weight in Gold guys!

@ChordUp Dmitry, thanks so much for creating this amazing little app! Huge discovery for me since I don't place Bass but now I can on my iPhone SE anywhere anytime!

I have to agree with you about the greatness of ChordUp. I can't believe that I just let that app sit unused on my devices for so long. Making up for lost time now, though ;)

  • What's the difference between Chordup and Soundprism? They look like pretty much the same thing to me.

Not to take anything away from Soundprism (I am a sick completist and have all the versions), ChordUp allows you to play far more chord variations and voicings.

  • I have mixed feelings about this kind of app. It's great that they lower the barrier to entry for new musicians, and encourage people with no skills to start expressing themselves musically. But to get good at them, you're going to have to practice them like any other instrument. But they are not that deep, and eventually you're going to have to learn a real instrument anyway. And that sunk cost could become worthless when the app goes away. Whereas if you had invested that time actually learning some guitar or keyboard, you'd have transferable skills that will stay with you forever.

That said, some of the new Ipad interfaces -- such as Geoshred -- are new instruments that do things that regular guitar and keyboard cannot do.
