Import multiple zips from Documents 6 into AudioShare?

Hi - does anyone know the easiest way to import multiple zips from Documents 6 (Readdle) into AudioShare? I can only seem to do them one by one.

  • Zip your zips and then unzip them?

Thanks. That's what I ended up doing. I couldn't see a multi select option in AudioShare either to batch unzip then batch delete - does anyone know if there is one?

Lol. Well I was being a bit facetious but I was truly curious. Did some quick Googling and found a few things about zipping zip files. This was pretty interesting:

"The zip format compresses each file individually, so zipping a zip file actually can save some space; particularly the metadata is effectively uncompressed, and will be compressed in the zipped-zip. Probably the very best compression possible is by using no compression to collect the individual files into a single archive and then using maximum compression to reduce the single-archive size. This is basically the same idea with the .tar.gz format."

Didn't know that and have worked in tech a long time!

I was just having some fun wordplay too. Zip up your zip ups reminded me of Herbie's 'hang up your hang ups'.

Lol, no I got the Herbie reference but I was blown away that zip compressing a zip file is possible and I guess done often. I'm thinking maybe certain file types being zipped & zip/zipped may work better than others but then I feel that it's all digital 1's & zeroes right?

And full disclosure I'm not going to guinea pig trying to zip a zip file in AudioShare or Documents... with my luck my iPad will start melting...

  • Zipping your zips is ok up to a point.... a gig maybe max. The other option is to use iTunes and your computer.

  • You can use the built in Wi-fi drive to upload multiple files. AudioShare has to be running in the foreground. But a trick... if you use Split Screen - you can keep the wi-fi drive alive, and upload from the document picker:

Thanks. The issue I hit with the Wi-Fi drive was that it ignored the folder structure and added all files in the source subdirectories flat at the root of whatever folder you were in. Unzipping in AudioShare worked better for me as it kept the folder structure intact.

Why would you do that? :) You can just import directly from Document Picker in AudioShare. Tap the yellow import button at the bottom and choose "Document Picker".

By the way, if you need AudioShare to keep running in the background, you can just play a loop.

@j_liljedahl I only do it when I want to do multiple (simultaneous) file imports. Unless there's another way? I can drag/drop a bunch at a time into the web browser. Didn't know about playing a loop!

On a computer yes, that's when using AudioShare's WiFi-Drive makes sense. On iOS, I don't see a way you could drag multiple files from the Document Picker into an upload page in Safari (or other browser)??
