DM1 Drum Machine on sale this weekend ($0.99/£0.99)

As per title....

I'm thinking of getting this since I bought the iPhone version years ago and quite enjoyed it despite the limitations.
Anyone know if the sync is stable these days over MIDI clock?

To answer my own question : sync via MIDI clock is pretty sloppy (tested sending from Loopy HD). Seems solid enough via Link though...
The world needs a VST plugin that sends Link to iOS land.....

    You ain't lying....

Having a ball with Maschine and Link.... FLStudio can be interesting with Link though..

And DM1 is s good buy..

  • I wonder why the iPhone version is not on sale.

  • what is the difference in iphone version and ipad versions ?

  • also, can you import samples into this app?

  • My favorite pattern organizer....

  • @eross yes DM1 is a drum sampler.

@iamspoon re vst with link. I'm assuming you don't own Live. A kludge might be to pick up Live light then host Live light in your DAW via Rewire.

really, how do you import them in?

Hit the current kit in the top menu then User Kit > Create new kit > lots of import options.

  • I couldn't resist.

no worries. thanks for your help

  • Can you only use one effect at a time ? I thought you might be able to automate an effect on one pattern and then automate a different effect on another pattern so both effects play back in song mode ? But I'm guessing it can't do that. ? Only one effect per song as a whole across all the patterns ?

  • @ecamburn Re: Ableton Link... I do own a copy of Ableton Lite, but I don't think I can rewire into my version of Cubase (Elements 7) and I'm not sure I would anyway as it's too complex a setup for my liking. Thanks for the kludgey suggestion anyway : )

@triton100 There are 2 effect slots and they seem to be saved per pattern.
I tested in song mode and was able to have different effects with automations on 2 consecutive patterns.

@eross The iphone version doesn't have sample import IIRC.

    agghhh thanks.

  • @iamspoon no way! I'm so freaking excited ! Can't wait to check this out. Effects on some of those kits design sounds from other planets I love them ! Thanks :)

@eross Sorry to be the bearer of bad news... I originally bought it for my phone assuming that you could load samples too and felt similarly agghh...

@triton100 Have fun! It's worth pointing out that the effects implementation is a bit quirky.
The description implies you can have 2 effects per drum part, but in fact it is 2 effects per pattern that can be applied globally to all of the kit or selectively to parts of the kit. (Master/Mixer Toggle on the FX page)
This selection is then applied globally to the song, but the effects type and automations are still per pattern.

Also, sadly you can't automate the effect type selection to change within a single pattern.... which would be several extra levels of insane fun.
