Korg iM20 updates
I do not own it yet, and I see from reviews and demos that it is remarkable. On the other side, I see that the last update dates back to 2015. I wonder, and I'm asking for advice: is it worth getting (not really cheap, besides)?

It's a really good app with nice tone, extends the original for an arpeggiator, sequencer and a drum section - flawless as long as I can remember.
Few updates can also be an indicator for proper developement
My favourite app that I never use. Just love having an iPad version as I've got a real one, and it's an excellent emulation.
Lack of updates bothers me though - yes it works but there are lots of improvements that could be made: Link/AU support, a Gadget version, even a few new presets would have been nice as the current batch are pretty uninspiring.
Like the iPolysix, Korg need to show some love for their older apps.
Would I buy it at the current sale price? Yes.
It is very good. In a way it is a bit better than the original. My original MS-10+MS20+SQ10 was a lot of fun, but the SQ10 only has twelve steps. The iPad iOS iMS-20 has sixteen steps.
Definitely worth it. But Korg have regular sales so if you can wait for the next one, I would.
Works well still. But yes would be nice to see some attention to this app. You used to be able to download tracks from soundcloud and get more presets that way, but even though you can still connect and browse, looks like ability to download has stopped, the same for ipolysix.
Where can we find more presets and sessions ? Is it possible to share and import them ?
I never had the sequencer. In our band the three MS20 players had to play them live, in time with a Dr Rhythm drum machine. Nerve wracking stuff.
There was an MS20 PDF patch book available from the Korg website.

But that just shows you how to make the ims20 presets on a real ms20.
It's a fantastic emulation but it's an older emulation. For instance, Odyssei and Mono/Poly have tuning instability built in whereas iMS-20's tuning is digital-rock-solid. That's probably a feature for some people, especially considering that iMS-20 lacks a sync function, so I appreciate that it's possible to stop the oscillators from beating against one another, but my point is that peoples' priorities have changed since the app was designed. Nowadays many of us want accuracy at the expense of perfection (myself included).
I don't expect to see a Gadget version considering that they already have the Dublin (Berlin?) semi-modular and I don't expect to see any more feature updates given that the app has probably passed its revenue generating days (a handful of sales per year won't pay for development hours in a large company like Korg), but I do fully expect to continue using and loving this app.
Ok i have to recreate those presets manually but thank you ,it's better than nothing.Ms 20 is able of a lot of different sounds but there are only few factory presets ...
Ah, my bad. I never looked at it properly. I just remembered it from a Korg tweet a couple of years ago.
Fair.
...
iMS20 was very early release on IOS, machines had a lot less powet than today.
At least subjectively it seems to adjust it's processing to that, as I remeber it more harsh on old devices, well thought in advance.
I was surprised to find it frequently in the store's top ranking even after years.
If there's a semi-Modular in Gadget you bet it's a cloaked MS20 engine
i use it with the ims20IC with it and its amazingly great

Is there actually a Korg iOS synth supporting AU?
Not yet, not all have Link either, which is becoming a must-have these days.
For it to be faithful to my hardware version the portamento would need to come on randomly, usually when I'm doing a solo.
