Has anyone used a 16 pad controller and 64 pad controller at the same time in BeatMaker 3?

Has anyone used a 16 pad controller and 64 pad controller at the same time in BeatMaker 3? If so please explain how you set up the midi? Every time I try and midi map it wipes out the previous midi cc mapping. I have a luanchpad MK2 and plan on getting Akai MPD218 or IK iRig pads. Will I be able to use them both at the same time in BM3 cant seem to get two midi mappings of one pad?

  • Yep, same issue with Roli Blocks. Thought it was me at first.
BeatHawk works flawlessly, which is what i use instead at the moment.

  • I use two 16 pad controllers, one which has four pad banks per preset so will be mapped to 64 - I've just not gotten to the point in prepping my gear for performance where I've bothered to map more than the first 16.

I use the 16x4 pad controller for focus actions, while the 16 pads on the other are assigned directly to banks by using channel and note numbers. Works for me!

  • That's one way around it.

Thats not what I mean I can do that I need to be able to do it with two different controllers that method doesnt work for my set up. I have tons of midi controllers

  • Not really sure what you're asking. I'm using 2 controllers here:

If you can clarify a bit I'll have a look. If you're asking whether you can map two controllers to one Focus action then I think not.

thats what i meant. Mapping a 64 pad controller on one midi channel say channel 1 then a 16 pad controller on channel 2. The 64 pad controller for 64 pad instruments and a 16 pad controller for 16 pad instruments

Oh it's just a backup unit for live (they get worryingly hot!). Rarely I patch the outputs of one into the inputs of another so that I can plug three things in at the same time.. rarely.
