Thanks, Mitch.
That Sector video is a great addition!
Did you ever get around to one for Dhalang MG? I'm fairly proficient with it, but was curious if you'd take to it and figure it out fairly quickly. Still lovin' that app and the desktop version just got a sweet update.
IMIDIPatchbay one app I brought as I believed at the time I could connect up more than one midi controller to trigger iOS synths etc. I couldn't get my head around it if you have that one would love to see how you set things up. Also all of the midiflow apps and how they are used separately and in tandem with each other in AB3 and what they bring to the party. I have them all but done understand fully how they all work in AB3. I know Johannes Dorr has put out some UT on them but the more info the better on these.
@johnfromberkeley Thanks. It is super fun now that sector syncs up with audiobus and link.
@skiphunt I got it and have played with it some. The Sample section is fun to mess around with. I think the best way will be to sit down over a few days and actually create a track then do videos breaking down the track.
It's an odd app. On the surface it looks very cryptic, but it does have a logic that makes sense once you click with it. And, once you dive into the Vector and Matrix State machines, as well as the Particle section... and figure out how to sort of get them all sync'd... I think you'll be wow'd. Then, try sending all of that midi outbound at the same time too.
Pay attention, everyone. This has been the main stumbling block over people using Sector with modern apps!
Yer right. This one had slipped by, but good work @gmslayton. Always a bit intimidated by Sector, but going back in...
Thanks for the videos! Will fire up Sector tonight!
Appreciating the vids Mitch, always a new angle on things to interest me.
Not got Sector, been tempted a while though ... the new syncing capabilities might push it over.
@gmslayton Thanks for these--always enjoy your videos! One tip for recording into Modstep; in clip settings change the # of loops setting to 1. Arm modstep to record then launch the clip and it will record only 1 pass without overdubbing. For multiple clips, change the # of loops in the scene setting to 1. Add a blank scene directly below it. Arm to record then launch the scene to record 1 pass of all clips in the scene. Important to have the blank scen below one it will keep looping even if you change the # of loops. Hope this makes sense!
Ooh, nice work with Sector!
How about Different Drummer?!
I've been using SECTOR consistently with AUM, works perfectly in today's paradigm. Good that AB allows sync now too.
The newly update for Audiobus 3.0.6 breaks the IAA sync I demoed in the above video with Sector. Well breaks is the wrong term. Michael took it off because it was having issue with other apps not ready to receive IAA sync via Audiobus. So if you have not already updated and want to keep IAA sync, don't update.
I would suggest that the option be put back in 1 of 2 ways. Either the ability to select which app IAA is being sent to or put it back in and off as default with the ability to enable it with a warning that it might cause other apps not to function properly.
Either way I am suggesting you put it back, please.
