  • That thing DOES sound great!

  • Nice vid Mister J. Agree with you, the sequencer is so fluid/slinky that it's REALLY easy to make cool basslines etc, BUT I WANT TO SAVE THEM.....please.

Little on the Step-Seq.. Ableton Link, Scales, Ties etc?

    Thank for the video...

    Edit... Midi out?

    Sorry

    Ties yes
    MIDI out no
One can put chords into the step-seq. Made a quickie on that

    no link sync
    Scales no

  • To be honest I wanted to implement audio unit only, then i added a small host for testing purposes, then a small step sequencer. There are a lot of great AU hosts: DAWs, ARPs etc.. but now I see I need to go deeper with this :)

Yes you do... and Ableton Link also... B)

    Still looks great.. will buy..

  • Great video as ever. Thanks Mr Haq. Synth sounds as amazing as I'd hoped.

I noticed at 2:06 that you can input chords in the step sequencer. BOSS. Can you record automation to the step sequencer? Does the sequencer sync to other stuff? Can you transpose the sequence with the keyboard or via MIDI?

    And about those layers...

Is the synth duotimbral by chance (midi channel per layer)?

Does it have a Sunrizer-style method to interpolate between the two layers?

Can you load a preset into one of the layers discreetly? Say I have a bass sound going on Layer 1 and want to find an existing patch to load into Layer 2... Do both layers get wiped out when selecting a preset?

  • Ah, missed page two of this thread. Some of my questions are already answered. Congrats on the release @giku_beepstreet

  • Please don't! It's already deep and awesome! In my humble opinion keep the Synth CPU as is and not more CPU dependent. Navichord works beautifully on iPhone and the iPad! And Cubasis and BM3 already have Chords so why make this more complicated.

Update Sunrizer and the sequencer apps and bang! More happy customers IMHO.

Right now also Model 15 has midi in and out and already a great Arp unit which can be used to drive Zeeon via midi. The less resources it eats the better and thicker presets to be made!

    Again just my two cents.

I just bought Korg Montpellier (iMono/Poly). Can this do a lot that the Korg app cant't?

  • Within 10 minutes of every app release, there are laments and requests left and right for features not there that 'should' be instead of a discussion of what IS there...or instead of just playing the damn thing for a while and not letting the lack of Extra Perk #203.b get to you.

Which is precisely why we are the best market research resource a loving developer could ever hope for

  • Agree, I guess if one doesn't use it won't eat resources.

    Gotta agree.

I like what we've got here with Zeeon :)

A few 'step modulators'(stepped and interpolated) would be sweet, these could be used as regular note-based step-sequencers or for parameter modulation. (OT I'm running out of modulation slots and 'One shot LFOs' that could be used to fade in parameters such as LFO depth).

  • @giku_beepstreet I don't know how often you read Synthtopia but the comment thread on http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2017/08/31/new-analog-circuit-modeling-synth-for-ipad-zeeon/#comments is extremely unusual. On most every other article, there's comment after comment of people bitching about this or that. So far, reaction to Zeeon is 100% positive; a total anomaly at Synthtopia. Congrats!

  • I think there was a similar reaction to iVCS3 and Moog 15. But yeah - tough crowd.

Amazing but it's ipad only. Nobody I know wants to lug ipads around when phones can fit in our pockets and we can bring a midi keyboard to control stuff. Sounds amazing tho!

What's all this stuff about 'lugging iPads around'? I saw you mention this in another thread. They're smaller than a magazine and weight about the same as a packet of crisps. Jeez - when I was a gigging musician we'd spend half the night hefting bass cabs and valve amps about, and my MS20 weighs more than my TV. Have modern touring musicians developed tiny arms or something?

Bad backs and arthritis...so I "heft" a 112 cab and a genz benz streamliner, plus a pedal board, but on a cart...iPad is in the bass gig bag though, just not on sound generating duties anymore, strictly a monitor mixer and music reader. However, zeeon may change that in the future, I'm amazed at how good it sounds. And Jakob, it was your video that put me over the edge on this one....

Hahaha. It's not the weight :)

hear me out on this tho

I use a midi keyboard so I don't have to mess with the screen. I prefer physical controllers and those should be large not the processor. Also plus screens are plenty big enough to navigate most apps.

Appearently my crusade for universal apps is really pissing some people on the forum off?
I'm not saying you need to throw your ipads away. But theres just no reason for having a large screen I'm not using. I use synths and an amp sim and loopy controlled thru midi. Never really need to touch the screen at all during shows so a bigger screen feels pointless and I don't have $800 for a new iPad. Make sense?

It's pretty strange strange why some you are so against an app being universal but whatever.
My bitching paid off. Just noticed this today from developer for the new Audiokit synth one app (coming soon)

You have to understand something. Internationally the iPhone actually costs more than an iPad. So in my case here in India I can't spend too much cash on an iPhone when I can buy 2-3 2017ipads for the same price. An iPhone is actually a luxury here. Most people just buy Android.

@gonekrazy3000 that's really odd and I didn't know that. Btw I checked out some more zeeon demos and it sounds so good. :-(

Hopefully Sunrizer xs gets some 64 bit updates soon tho
