Beatmaker 2 vs Beatmaker 3 midi Launchpad

I have a Novation launchkey MK2. The only app the Launchkeys pads light up with so far to my knowledge is the Novation Launchkey app. I was playing with Beatmaker 2 today and I was using the launchkey as a controller and I got blown away when the pads lite up on the launchkey. So I tapped the pads in beatmaker 2 and the opposite happened the pads on the launchkey lite up. Awesomeness!!!!!! Okay so why does this not happen in Beatmaker 3 or any other app?

True, but that’s how it works.

Do you use AUM? That’s probably the easiest way to get basic LED feedback. Its midi routing lets you send incoming Launchpad midi signals back to the Launchpad. Ignore any warnings about feedback loops (that’s not a problem here). If you just do this it will light up any pad you press.

You can also route any other midi signals out to the Launchpad as well, though they might not make sense. Something like Midiflow could be used to translate them into something meaningful, perhaps even light shows...

There’s probably a way to do this in Audiobus too, but I can’t get my head around AB3’s midi controls.
