FAVE: Non Audiobus App?

What is your favorite NON AUDIOBUS app?

I think NOISSE is fun and for the first time trying out AUXY lately.

What other good ones are out there?

  • MIDI Link Sync - helps me out on many occasions

  • So have you found a way to overdub noise recordings?

    I use it every session.

@CodingCod has actually tried to intergrate the Audiobus SDK into it but at the time it didn't fit into @Sebastian & co.'s vision for Audiobus', so it wasn't 'granted' (or however it works).

I can see how that's logical and fair enough in the AB2 world, but the times are a'changing!

I contacted Coding Cod recently and asked what his thoughts were on Audiobus 3's adoption of MIDI and the current iOS paradigm. Here's the reply:

If anyone else would like this to happen as much as I would, make your voices heard!!

@AndyPlankton I was a long time AB2 holdout as I had upcoming concerts and didn't want to risk a software shift with upcoming dates on the calendar.

We're a development period now and have made the jump. AB3 is quality and a clear step forward. All aboard!!

Plus, an app being Audiobus compatible has no ramifications whatsoever on its operation as a stand alone. I love MIDI Link Sync, and I'd love it even more if it auto-loaded with my project, recalled MIDI connections/configuration, let me fast switch to it and let me control aspects of it with remote triggers!

I quite like the sound of the Taylor EQ for acoustic guitar but haven't found out how it could be recorded within the iPad

used to be a standalone app and is now included in two Sonoma Wire Works recorder apps which are also not Audiobus compatible (and honestly I don't really need another recording app but might get one of those just to be able to catch that sound)

    I don't use AB2 either...I prefer AUM's more compact UI, but I get your point ;)

I really like AUM and I'm problably missing something, but I can't get it to transport so AU's like Replicant 2 and the like do not work.

That's my biggest use for AUM. Are you pressing the AUM play button when you add in Replicant? That's what kicks it in.

Thank you, I knew it had to be something stupid I was or wasn't doing.

It's only with a few of the Audio Damage plugins that I've seen this so easy to miss.

  • BeatSpiral by Xylio, a 99 cent app, that vanished from the store and almost even from YT
this might give some idea (I used the iPad version) about it

a real cool approach that takes an afternoon or so to get the gestures, but after that it's a great performing tool making use of multitouch at it's best.
(2 'decks' of 2 loops each playing in quarter-devided surface, featuring crossfade, instant recording and slice hopping)
