Music I/O and Studiomux dusted off still frustrating.

I've tried getting these 2 apps working after a dust off! Currently can only get Music I/O to work and that's plugging my lightning connector directly into my Laptop and DAW which is Bitwig. I've tried running a standard USB to USB cable out of my CCK 3 and powering my iPad at the same time but currently can't get the apps to show like this. Anyone managed to get these apps working with their CCK 3 ? Would like to route my Arturia Keystep to my iPad is this possible with this setup probably Bluetooth only I would of thought?

  • You'd usually plug the Keystep into the laptop, and route the midi from your DAW to the ipad, through music i/o.

The CCK won't work to hook up to a computer, it is for the ipad hosting usb accessories.

Mac or PC? Have much experience but have only used them with Mac and have never used Bitwig or CCK. CCK should not be necessary, at least for what I do (using keyboard routed through daw to record iPad instruments in daw).

  • never had any satisfaction from studiomux, but you could have a try with inter device audio and midi, available in high sierra/ios 11, currently in beta. works pretty well for me.

  • Sorry should if said PC

  • Tried routing via the Audio IO plugin to ipad from the Bitwig. It shows but sayes not available. Maybe it wint let you route audio and midi in different directions at the same time?

  • I don't think the CCK enumerates the Studiomux connection. You can use a Hub hosted by the Mac, then just plug lightning to usb hub, and keystep into the hub. Then you should get a Studiomux connection. You can also get a hub with a 2.4/data connection on the same ports.

  • PC only so no joy with using a Mac
