Just simply brilliant

  • Doug, you've got to be a happy dude now that this one is out. I know I am.

  • A lovely thing indeed.

  • Like the rearranging thing. Nice sound, obviously. But one for the keyboard kings, I think.

Disagree. I am a keyboard pauper, but being able to use such beautiful sounds gives even my limited skills inspiration etc.

As is so often the case, I suspect, your virtual ivory tinkling is superior to mine.

  • I'm just wondering, & not a criticism, but how does Neo Soul Keys Studio compare to other apps? For example, against IK Multimedia iElectric Keys(& possibly SampleTank?) or even Korg Module, or even the original Neo Soul keys? (maybe a "Sound Off" competiton type of thing & differences between the apps is needed......... Or not?...... These app sound good too)..... Yes, Neo Soul Keys is an AU Unit, but so there Klevgar "Tines" AU Unit?..... For example........ I must say the Neo Soul Keys Studio on iOS does sound rather special........ But I have it in NI Kontakt VST........ I would get this fab app, but I have others that can do the same........ An electric piano is an electric piano....... Some need a bit of tweaking sometimes, as it depends on what you are doing in a project....... But I'm just asking..... ;)

@studs1966 I understand your thinking that electric pianos are basically the same, but try to think in terms of buying a new car: all (good) cars will get you where you need to go, some have features that others don't, some have more shiny colors, etc. Personal opinions and favorites will vary. But this one is really the Rolls Royce sportscar class of its own super EP. I own the other apps you mentioned, I love and use(d) them all, but this one just sounds and plays way better.

It is toast in the end of course, but in this case we are definitely chewing on the same fine loaf....

Well that's sold me then....... Time to sell off my Great Grandfathers Pocket watch, for a few Sheckles then......... ;)

  • I think that NSKS is beyond a shadow of a doubt the most articulate of all the iOS Rhodes/Wurlitzer pianos, iLectric has a wide range of electric pianos including the CP80 styles grands as does Module, but you can't fine tune either of those to the degree you can with NSKS, that's all it does and it does extremely well, you almost have too much control, it's almost as if you can decide how much dust is on the key contacts, how damage the piano has received while on tour, how damp the storage environment was, how much the pedals are worn out by your playing style over years and years, who repaired it, how long the repair will last, etc etc etc...its goes on and on..and that is passion and soul and in the very end when it's all said and it's all done the passion and the soul is all you are left with and that is magic

  • We can vote for passion and soul with our wallets, and I did in this case even though I'm not sure I care that much about the nuance. But then I hit a preset that feels like bathing in warm pudding and I smile and think, "good investment".

    Right there.

  • Bought this and Zeeon today. Looking forward to digging deep into both.

  • "Bathing in warm pudding".......
