Cubasis AU question

Hi!
I have a cubasis project in which I use the audio damage effect dubstation 2 in a couple of tracks. I want to automate some parameter and I know it's not possible in cubasis.
I tried muting all tracks in cubasis except the one I want to automate and load cubasis inside AB3 as input. Then I load dubstation 2 as effect and cubasis as output. While recording I would tweek the effect knobs. The problem with this approach is that I couldn't hear the effect. I can only hear the track. Can this be solved using cubasis in combination with another app?
Thanks.

  • Are the instruments you want to record Cubasis built-in ones, or apps? Do you have AUM?

The track I want to automate is a wav track.
Edit: no I don't have AUM. If AUM can solve the problem I will buy it. Thanks

  • Well, I thought I had an answer for you, by creating a track for AUM as an IAA app, then using AUM to host and automate Dubstation 2. It's a nice solution because you can then automate any cc and map it to any of the controls in Dubstation 2. However, when I tried it out, I couldn't get Cubasis to record the output. I'm at a loss and too sleepy to try to figure it out.

You could just process the audio file in AUM then export to Cubasis I suppose.

I'd get someone else's advice before buying AUM just for this. There could be a better answer.

Thank you for beeing so helpful. I've been waiting for a good reason to buy AUM since I already have AB3 and I'm not interested in live performances. I'll wait and see if there's a solution. I hope AU automation will come soon to Cubasis.

I've been waiting for au automation in cubasis for more than half a year. Wouldn't hold your breath for it to come soon if I were you. Deleted cubasis for now

The cubasis people ( @LFS ) said in another thread that this is a prioritised feature. I'll just have to keep the faith
