Someone please invent this app.
So many times, even with apps from the same company, such a Blocs Wave and Launchpad, I find the app landscape orientation turned opposite when switching between apps. So what was up becomes down, forcing me to physically turn the iPad 180 degrees.
What I'd buy instantly is a 'One Way Up' app that ran in the background and forced all apps launched to have the same orientation. Is this kind of thing even possible?

Lock the screen Rotation in the iPad .
If only it was that simple.
The effect I described is unaffected by screen locking. The developers decide which orientation up or down relative to the screen. So if an app runs landscape, which edge of the iPad is up? Users have no way to choose.
Hmm all Apps Load at same orientation. Blocs launchpad BM3.
Nope.
LaunchPad and BlocsWave just launched. Tried screen grabs, but they orient differently in photos. So, to explain in words, I now have iPad in landscape view, and LaunchPad is the right way up. But in relation to it, BlocsWave appears upside down.
Never heard of this bug before
iOS version?
What iPad and iOS is this ? Don't see this behavior at all on my air2. Then again I've stopped using novations apps till they fix their filesystem.....
I just opened both and do not see the issue you have described.
Don’t see it here either. iPad mini 4 and iPad Pro 9.7.
OP - such an app is not possible.

Okay, just found out how this works.
Start with iPad in portrait mode, and orientation locked. Holding it in that mode, load Blocs Wave followed by LaunchPad. One faces left the other right.
If you now turn your iPad to landscape mode and unlock orientation, however, apps orient correctly.
10.3.3?
Sometime ago someone was talking about rotation bug and some of us didn't understand what he was talking about. Recently I found with orientation lock it gets crazy whenin portrait mode (iOS nasty bug) but when you are in landscape never find a upside/down apps.
That makes sense but why to lock in portrait mode for work with these? I find the bug annoying but not critical. Just lock at landscape and when it arises tap home button to force it into right position. Apple should address it in iOS 11... any betatester can confirm this is fixed?
Why would anyone lock in portrait mode ?

Good tip, thanks.
I'm not locking iPad in portrait mode to use the apps mentioned, it's in portrait mode and locked as standard, 'cause for non music apps that suits me better.
Read while laying down.
@Zen210507 have you restarted the iPad? It sounds like a temporary bug. I have many apps that launch upside down, but they right themselves immediately. This sounds just like the kind thing a reboot would fix.
And right now, screen rotation is still screwy in ios 11 beta, on my iPad at least.
Is it wierd that I read in landscape ?
@Zen210507 thanks for clearification. I use portrait locked for reading too
@mistercharlie someone should open a ticket for that. Maybe Apple isn't aware of it due they believe iOS 10 is perfect
This is a problem especially if you have the iOS device more or less permanently mounted on something and going back and forth between multiple apps in different orientations. I wish there was something like that to fool the accelerometer and tell it which way around it should be. There definitely won't be an app for that ever. Maybe a JB tweak? Don't think so, though.
Another reason for why I prefer to use AU's inside a host. It's just anoying having to use upsidedown and sideways apps because my iPad is in a DOCK so rotating is NOT a good option and locking doesn't always "work" (as described above).
O.T. Is there a harmonic exciter AUv3 app that someone could recommend?

That sounds like something Apple coke easily add....if anyone is paying attention. Unlikely, I know.
