  • I had a look at a few YouTube videos but couldn't see any way of altering the tempo or the duration of each chord in song mode. Can someone please confirm that this is possible?
    Thanks

  • Hey @receder
The duration of each chord is controller by the user. The app is not controlled by a specific tempo, the user taps each chord and decided how long they want it to last. There is an auto sustain that allows for the chord to stay on for as long as you want it until you move into the next chord.

  • @FilipeMichael Thanks for the response. Ok I see now.
I guess I thought a "foot switch free" mode would be useful but then it would be more like other apps such as chordbot which is not the purpose of your app.

  • edited September 2017

    @receder Yes.
However, we are adding an auto play mode in the next two months, that will allow you to set the duration of each chord, select a tempo, and let it play.

  • Ok thank you B)

@FilipeMichael I'm very keen on apps like this, that help make a musician with their hands busy, able to make more sound. Had a question about your app, in the song mode, where you click a button to advance the chord (very cool!), during a performance, what provision is there for you to recover from mistakes, and get back on with the tune? It would be a brain melter to be playing guitar and simultaneously have to figure out if you are one step ahead, or one step behind, of where you should be, while all you know is it is sounding awful, because the wrong chord is playing.

  • Just bought <3

Can't wait for AudioBus update and other tweaks. Haven't had a chance to run it but so glad to bless this dev too o:)

@FilipeMichael - I am interested, the only thing I can't find is more examples of the sound it makes. The online stuff I find are mostly about how to do this and that, etc, but I only hear the organ sound (which is a fine sound btw). I would be more inclined to buy if I hear more sounds. EDIT: although I must add I hear a verby piano (in the vid above) which also sounds nice.

There are 2 or 3 pad sounds which sound pretty good. I believe it only has about 5 stock sounds though. It does, however, have MIDI IN which certainly is a plus.

Ok, thanks for your answer. The midi thing.....I am not a master at it...does it mean I can within the app activate another app which sounds i can use....you don't have to explain it in detail if thats too much work to write....only thing is: is it difficult to set up? And: do I need some sort of midi app to use this midi function? I have Sampletank for example. Can I use the Dream Foot app to setup chords using sounds of Sampletank? Is that difficult to setup? In Sampletank you can 'cluster' some instruments together, can I use this 'clustered' sound in the Dream Foot app to set up chords?
Perhaps I ask too many questions, don't bother if you don't feel like answering.

  • edited September 2017

    That should work :)
Since SampleTank is on same midi channel you can definitely cluster or layer sounds!
Even in AudioBus to other synths too and you can adjust volume levels too :)

Yeah, you can pretty much use the sounds from any synth app with Dream Foot. Unfortunately, as of now you cannot load Dream Foot into audiobus or AUM and can only use It to run other apps when it is on screen. The developer did say a few days ago that he was implementing Audiobus and IAA in the next update. It should be out in a week or so.

  • Definitely will need Background Audio if it's not already in there. I invested in the app or the fr at potential and for the reasons being used. I think having both Navichord and this app can open up many new workflows.

  • Hey guys I apologize for the delayed response. I have been flying all day and I didn't get a chance to reply. We are releasing an update this week with a quick fix on our chord progression scroll view and on our new Transpose feature. Our AudioBus update is coming soon, we have been testing the implementation of audiobus to make sure you guys can have a great experience.

  • Here is a link on how to connect Dream Foot to other IOS synth apps.

Hey, I am very open to this idea, how would you see this working on your prospective? And extra set of two buttons Left and Right to navigate trough a progression of chords without triggering them?

  • Also, here are a few more basic app tutorials to get you started.

That would be cool. Also sometimes one might want to play a chord twice and or skip one as a variation. So maybe for that it would be cool to have 2 cursor buttons and one trigger button assigned.

    +1 for background audio support!

  • I think it does have Background Audio cause it kept playing while I changed Presets on Infinite Synth.

  • Yeah, Technically it does have background audio. You just can't control the chord changes via a footpedal (at least not on my BlueBoard) without Dream Foot being onscreen.

Whatever it is, would work best if it can be accomplished with one button press. Something you could do with a foot while holding a wild rooster in both hands.

Just ideas, but when you're lost in the wilderness, without your iphone™, you look for landmarks. In music, the first chord/note of a phrase, on the one, is a good landmark. Maybe a second button could jump the sequence forward or back to the closest "one", and also play the chord. Like playing music with people, and people get lost, someone who is on it can get people together again by getting everyone's attention and getting them to land together on a big change. All you have to know is to hit the "jump to one" button on the one, and you'd be back on track.

With more foot buttons, maybe you could set different jump points in each phrase, like if you are doing long strings of notes, or chords, you could jump to a couple landmarks within the phase (shown here in the [ ]'s), like here, if it were 12 bar blues :)
    [E], E, E, E, [A], A, E, E, [B], A, E, B.

Just one idea on how to do it. But people make mistakes, machines glitch, it's nice to not be SOL when it happens. The worst trainwrecked performances I've seen have come from bands using sequencing, and getting off from the sequence in a way where they couldn't figure out how to get back on.

  • This app is totally a must have app and in construction with Navichord I'm so close to having my One Man Band Realtime song making setup going! Especially without an external midi controller!

I'm really anxiously awaiting for AudioBus 3 support!

Guys if you don't already own Navichord and Dreamfoot get it while the special is on! It ends tomorrow or tonight at midnight who knows. I'll try to do a video of how I got these two apps working for my OMB AB3 preset and share it when done.

Anyone know if there's a way to import song chords or download song chords into Dreamfoot?

What functionality does Dreamfoot provide beyond what you can get with Navichord alone, with its midi learn capabilities?

  • Navichord is way more complete hands down but with this app , you can easily program long chord progressions and switch between chords in realtime also, plus if you drive it via midi with an Ableton Link enabled app like Navichord you can get the best of both worlds. There are a few temp workarounds to get the song going via midi and that's how I'm using it. But when full AB3 gets added, it will be able to be an extra tool with solid midi implementation.

  • Lastest update just dropped. I've got a BlueBoard coming so interested how your going to combine Dreamstep with Navichord MusicMan4 Christ.

  • Hey guys, just so you know, the latest update that we released last night fixes a bug that was happening with the new Transpose feature. Also, we added a feature that lets you cycle trough the chord progressions. Our next update will include a full implementation of audiobus.

  • This option will enhance this app so much more especially when used in the studio to record other synths. Or when say for some reason the foot controller goes bad you can have a backup song where everything is preprogrammed. This will work really well when I lead worship at church and just in case I get nervous or lose track of where I'm supposed to be, the song will be at exactly the right position. Thanks!

  • For now I'm using both apps. Navichord has Ableton Link and a playable onscreen keyboard that can send data via separate midi channel. But I really am enjoying Dreamfoot cause it adds an extra set of hands to program chords and with the addition of AB3 and song auto play, will be an additional awesome tool in the studio for recording and for live worship leading at church.
