APP TO MAKE IPAD HEADPHONE OUT LOUDER?
Hi Everyone -
Is there an App that makes the iPad headphone out port louder? I am using my iPad with an amplifier in outdoor settings where there is no power, so I want an App that will do this, rather than a piece of hardware. I have the iPad Pro 12.9, first generation. Thanks!

If it could go any louder, it would distort the output amp of the ipad.
All you can do is have healthy levels coming from your apps, and / or add hardware
- like focusrite itrack / or some sort of iDock to get much louder levels
Audioshare and Aufx:Peak maybe?
I think you are thinking about the apps that claim to do it on a phone.....the phones have their output limited due to EU regulations, these apps remove the output limiter......
iPads do not have the same restriction....
You could try using a compressor/limiter to increase the output, but this will only work for audio that is not already 'maximised'
I use one of these, which works really well...is is rechargeable and I get a lot of use out of a single charge...There is a newer model available...Topping NX1

You could use roughriders(free compressor) makeup gain to boost a bit more, but it might cause some distortion if you push it too hard, as someone mentioned earlier. So its better to use a headphone amp(or interface with enough gain) if your headphones have too high inpedance to give enough output volume
Which one of these is better at increasing the volume? This is for using with an amplifier for live performances. I'm running my keyboard controller with various electric pianos, organs, etc. through the iPad. Thanks.
Yes, that's what I was thinking; thanks for the info! I'll try this device if nothing amorphous works. I'm a field musician and want to avoid carrying anymore physical devices on the NYC subways if at all possible! Thanks.
That unit is very small, and works well..there are a lot of much more expensive ones available....I've had mine for a couple of years and have had flawless operation from it, and I think i've only had to charge it 5-6 times in that time.
I've already got one, maybe two, keyboards hanging off the lighting port - camera kit, plus maybe a battery charger, so I so NOT want to add another piece of hardware to an already precarious set up. That said, I'll keep this in mind if nothing else works (and so far, that's the case!) Thanks...
I got Peak; it does nothing except for the microphone, which I don't want to use anyway. This is for playing keyboards through an amp. How does this Peak thing work? I don't have Audiobus yet (yeah, I know, newbie here!). Is that the solution to make the Peak app actually do anything? Thanks.
OK, I got Audiobus. Same thing, the Peak app does not appear to do ANYTHING. What am I doing wrong? Thanks...
Well, sorry, I was thinking about eq-ing your sound, in audioshare, which is the precursor to Aum (a mixer and basically the same functionality as audiobus). For expanding the volume it would be Aufx:Push, but as mentioned above, to pump things up, better stick with that flask thingie or a bigger amp. Good luck & greetings.
Edit: use the aufx:series as 'fx' and raise the main level and/or gain.
Or use an audio interface that gives you a decent line level output (Behringer UCA202 ?) instead of trying to use the headphone out, but that is something else hanging off of your CCK
I find myself listening and recording at lower and lower levels these days. Usually at half volume or a little below on iPad.
/Random unhelpful comment
There is no magical app for that purpose. Headphone amp or other external amp is the way to go.
If you host your app within AUM, which is basically a mixer host for other apps, you can use a fader to increase the volume by up to +6db. This might add distortion though, for the reasons listed above.
I'm all battery operated too. This is for busking (street musician). I just really need little boost to match (and a little over) the background music from my phone.
Then use a boost foot pedal - there are plenty around,
but it will mean you have to go mono into the foot pedal
What amp are you using? You might try modding it so that the volume and gain pots go to eleven.
I bought it from Spinal Tap's garage sale: Roland Street Cube EX.
Or one or more GAIN insert node, for up to +24dB each
