Great, fix for the lost recordings bug. Caught me out a lot of times, that one.
Seems like an amazingly quick response to the report of midi settings disappearing! I guess it was a tack-on to something in the works.
"Im a believer, I couldnt leave her if I tried"
Im still playing catch up on all the amazing features of this mixer, hoster, router, audiolab and midi mapping powerhouse.
Or even, AUM a believer!
midi clock out!!
How does this help/improve AUM having Link?
(Asking for a friend.)
@j_liljedahl Still my favourite app to explore all these iOS sounds. Respect!
external hardware ...
Ah, thank you. That's next year's project.
Sweet!!
Updated but still need to tap to launch in AB3. I don't understand.
thank you.....sweet!!
MIDI Clock Send! Nice. Just connected AUM to Bitwig. This opens up a lot of possibilities.
Yeah. Negates having to use the link to midi app to sync up hardware.
Another excellent update, especially midi clock out for hardware.
And for Mac users who are wondering, you can send audio over USB, and then send MIDI clock over Bluetooth or WiFi. Just use the Audio MIDI Setup app built into Mac OS. No interface needed to connect AUM to your DAW.
Hey hey we're the....uh, last train to....uh, never mind, I got nothing.
whats the"AU plugin memory allocation bug"?
Nothing? Just the lighting -> USB cable?
I have studiomux, is it the same solution?
Yeah, just USB for the audio, then like I say Bluetooth or WiFi for the clock send. It's pretty straightforward too, no need to jump through any hoops.
See this thread: trouble starting several au instances (page 4). There is a bug with the way iOS loads Audio Units. Without that fix, a host can only load a certain instances of the same AU. There is a workaround: show (even in a hidden, "sent-to-the-back" view) the view of the AU after loading it (that is, open the AU GUI after loading it). I also implemented that workaround, and it works.
Elastic Drums, Mood, and AUM?! What a great update Sunday!
Even though this is theoretically possible, I really don't recommend running MIDI clock over bluetooth or wireless. Maybe it will sync good enough, but probably not. The MIDI Clock Send was built to synchronize external hardware (sequencers, eurorack, synths, etc). But let us know how it goes!
Is anyone able to load Rebirth inside AUM and have it sync to AUMs midi clock?
No luck here.
@j_liljedahl thank you very much supporting midi clock! Big news for those that use a table of stuff with their ipad.
Yeah I saw the pop up window/warning. There is indeed some latency over WiFi, so recordings will be off a bit. Bitwig has recording offset, but for whatever reason it's not working for me (I can delay it further, but when I try offsetting the other way to record earlier and compensate for the latency I get no audio).
It's pretty close though over WiFi, roughly 20-25ms by my estimation. Not good for recording, unless you have a way to offset.
Ah, sweet. Bitwig also has transport sync compensation. Adjusted 20ms and it was spot on.
So I guess it all depends on if your DAW has a way to compensate for any latency.
WiF i latency isn't constant. It can go up and down depending on interference and how much activity there is on your network.
The macOS Audio MIDI Setup app has a little meter that shows the amount of latency, and it's been pretty consistent, and you're only syncing the few times you use the transport. Sure it's not as reliable as a wired connection, but if worse comes to worse you can record into AUM and use the setup to monitor your recording, then transfer the recording from AUM to desktop.
I just gave this a try but it looks like I run into a similar issue. I can load four instances of Kaspar but on the fifth all instances crash. iPad Pro 10.5". I'm not seeing the crazy CPU spikes or distorted audio that I would get in bm3 so maybe it crashes cleaner? Odd issue and seems worse on these new iPads.
