Why doesn't FL STUDIO get more love?
Beta testing another app and accidentally imported song/MIDI into it.
Wow.
Super quality sound. I never really realized it.
GLittlewood you are so right!

It needs some work in several areas especially IAA implementation but overall I like the workflow and the synths.
personally I think IAA and Audiobus implementation are horrendous with FL Studio, the worst Ive seen in an IOS Daws, I think they should scrap it altogether and just look into audio units, The latest update took a turn for the worst with AB and IAA. Id suggest just using the built in synths and instruments.
Let me clarify
I was talking about the synths.
I didn't even try iaa or au
Don't bother until they fix that part of it.
Yes - the synths and effects are very accessible and make some great noises.
I appreciate it since I may have wasted some time and storage
The sounds and possibilities for sounds are amazing to me. I actually didn't (don't) mind not having AB or IAA. (I have used it to drop in audio to projects on a track by track basis. However given what is available in-app, most of the synths outboard on the device are redundant...) I was glad that sample import has recieved love in the updates/betas, which are ongoing.
AU would be slick, definitely worth mentioning that (again) on user forum at image line...
Well this is the AB forum after all...and as everyone agrees it doesn't work properly with AB.
But apart from that personally I find the user interface horrible to use on iPad or iphone.
Either the text if too small for me to read or I have to set it it to 150% at which point you get hardly any bars on screen.
Haven't they heard of scaling text as you zoom in and out?
Also I resent the fact that whereas in FLM2 you could create sample instruments by simply importing a zip file of appropriately labelled samples now the only way to do it is by importing from the desktop plugin directwave (about £100 when I last looked).
About the only good thing I can think of to say about it really is that they are working hard ATM on improving it.
But who knows how long that will last? Seems like they have already abandoned two mobile products (deckadance and groove machine).
I don't think any other app can do what Directwave can do.. One can 'sample' almost any sound from the desktop Directwave (and FLS) and bring it into FSM's Directwave..
One of the major set-back with FSM (for me) is the lack of Link...
I think in a few updates.., it will be a one of the best DAWs for iOS..
Yes and the midi import is great..
As a DAW it's definitely lacking. As a self contained noise maker however, it's great
I love the piano roll and the ease with which you can import samples into directwave. Oh and it's extremely cpu efficient. Like Caustic level efficient, something that's very important to me yet seems to be ignored by an increasing number of devs
It is an brilliant sounding app, the piano roll is good, the timeline and the way you create looping patterns is slick...
The synths and FX and the way you can stack everything is really nice......bus tracks....
The ONLY reason I am not using it is it's lack of sync...MIDI Clock and Link both missing
Fl Studio do not own DeckaDance........ DeckaDance is owned by Gibson now....... A couple of years ago I think?
But you can import samples from Audioshare into directwave via open in and use them as sample instruments or are we talking multilayered instruments?
Multisampled instruments including drum kits.
I bought DeckaDance on iOS too.......

Good link to the article which explains how the intention of the move was to actually provide room for more growth of the app which is the inverse of abandonment.
the road to hell is paved etc
what's slick about not being able to copy clips from one track to another?
I was referring to the fact that you can have a 4 bar pattern, this is looped on the track within the bounds of you placemarker on the timeline, add another 4 bars to the pattern and the rest of the timeline automatically gets these new 4 bars also, kinda like ghost parts in Cubase.

Despite all of this... FLSM do get more love and it can be seen from their sales. It is consistently on the Top 10 (or at least Top 20) List of Paid Music App Category. http://appshopper.com/bestsellers/music/paid/?device=ipad
Good sounds but workflow is clumsy on this one
Funny - I find it quite smooth and not at all clumsy except for a couple of minor things. To each his own I guess.
I personally liked the old "music studio" style GUI
The new one seems not very intuitive at times.
It sells well based on the FL name, love as measured by ratings (2 1/2 on the appshopper link you posted) maybe not so much.
I actually like the sounds, I have everything except transistor bass, im just not feeling it as a DAW though.
Transistor bass sounds pretty good. It got eclipsed in my mind though by TroubleMaker.
This. It's one of the smoothest i've tried on ios
As a looonnnnggggg time FL Studio user, I really want to like FLSM, I just feel limited in it at it's present state of completion, and a little weary of waiting for it to come up to snuff.
That said, it seems to work as an AB3 midi sender now. That's kinda cool because I do like its piano roll and keyboard.
Piano roll, keyboard, drum seq., instrument and fx parameters, and access to each, are all very simple and direct, for me a much more lively and fresh all-in-one workspace than the old one, or competition. For me the one-page thing done right, I guess.
