Auria - Record Signal Bussed From Another Track?
I'm tracking vocals in Auria.
I would like to "print to tape" some light compression and saturation from Fabfilter Saturn
As an example, in the attached image, I would like to use track 1 as the mic input with insert FX set up, and have that bussed to, and Recorded on either of tracks 2, 3 or 4 (different takes) without needing to set up the insert FX on each track. Is this possible, or is there a better way to achieve what I'm after?

Yes, but I have to open auria later to remember how, off the top of my head you can use a bus as an output, then set that bus as the input of the new track. Or is it an aux send or group you use? One of them, mixing up my daw's, I've been using harrison mixbus a ton lately....
Or you can solo it and mix it down (render) and import as a new track.
You can output to a bus, @Shaken&Stirred, and have the bus as the input of a new track, but you won’t be able to simply hit “record” on this new track and print the output of the other track on it. Instead, you’ll have to solo the new track, hit Menu>Misdown>Wave>Import as a new track. Hope that helps.
In fact, I just read @mrufino1’s above post and he actually finishes his post (right above my first) with the same suggestion I made, but much more concise. That’s it!
Oh, wait, I just re-read your post and you are taking about printing the plugins while you track your vocals or whatever else through the mic. If I remember correctly you long press on the record enable button on the track and there's a option to record the fx. Then you would just drag each take to another track and do the next take.
Or you could track and bounce down as said before, but that would be an extra step.
Thanks guys, yeah, I don't think it's possible to use a bus as input on a track you're recording in Auria. The method you describe here, recording with effects, and dragging the audio to another empty track between takes is probably the most straightforward workflow for what I'm trying to do. Thanks again!
Yes, I just had a chance to check and it defaults to the mic as soon as you select record. But long press record enable, select record effects, then just move the file to the next track after each take. Playlists would make this unnecessary, but since there aren't playlists this also works fine.
The other thing, if you don't want to necessarily print the effects, is to bus all of the tracks that encompass your takes to the same subgroup and insert your effects there. But nothing wrong with committing to a decision when you track either!
