Isem. Whhaaa?????

I know I'm probably seriously late to the game on this synth, but hats off to the developers.
What an incredible synth.
Just wanted to spread the joy.
Over and out.

  • I still don't have it either. Seeing it in so many 'favourite synth' posts is making me think it sounds pretty good though...

  • It just went on sale at 50% off, btw.

  • Good solid synth.

  • Rolf worked on iSem I believe, yes it's Arturia at it's best on iOS.

  • It's nice and all - but don't think I'd put it in my top 5 synth apps.

  • Great synth, defo one of my favourites but the looooaaaaadddddiiiinnnnngggg times......

  • Yeah great sound but due to punishing load times and instability with multi-instances I elected to save my sanity by deleting it.

  • To me it is one of the best, or at least most authentic sounding, analog emulation on iOS, period.

So there. (I may be biased because I used to have an Oberheim 4-voice back in the day, and the iSEM definitely catches the vibe - especially if you use the cycling function and slightly detune or change the filter on each successive note played, you end up with a very organic sounding synth)

  • Yeah, sounds great but half the time I use it in garageband the project crashes when I come back to it later. I'd use it a lot more if it didn't have this issue.

¡Holy unbridled jealousy Batman! I hope the medical emergency that caused you to sell it, that being the only acceptable reason I can think of, worked out OK for you and yours.

Yes, for sure, to get the most out of iSEM you have to get down with the voice programmer.

I had similar issues with midiSteps. I had to delete midiSTEPS to get it to launch again! I basically only use iSEM in Audiobus or IAA mode at this point. It does seem to behave more reliably as an AU in AUM though.

<3 iSEM. Echoing rugbiv and knewspeak, it is one for the tweakers, the best of Arturia iOS by a long chalk, pending the iCS80 (not any insider info, just a fervently hoped for dream). Deceptively simple, which is always cool

  • One of my favorites.
One of the desert island 3.

  • I wish Arturia would make the rest of their IOS lineup into Audio Units, ISEM just beats IMini for me because it supports Audio Units

Yeah, GarageBand is the one app that does not play with ISEM at all, I had to delete ISEM, then open up projects that use ISEM as an audio unit then delete them from those projects, then reinstall ISEM and not use it in GB as an AU , ever. Aside from loading REALLY slow it works well with every other Daw Ive used it with.

  • Just recently been using it to make some great pads sounds.

  • Current version on the App Store is 1.3 however there has been a 1.5 version in the hands of some people for close to a year. Not sure why it was never released but I smell politics.

  • It crashed an MTS project. So I never use it now. Not sure if it's stable in Auria or not.
