VIDEO: next i loaded the digitakt with loadKer and more gadget through tons of iOS fx in AUM

hadn't really been able to use loadker well, haven't really researched what a lot of stuff does. rtfm right? soon. well, got a nice pattern happening and in aum started flinging as many weird fx as i could and cut up some of my favorite loops. 2 synths in gadget, the pad and the arp. track 1 and 2 are 2 separate loadker loops and i have them panning and with different sample start points, with randomizations. basically pushing as much weirdness as i could. recorded a few notes off my ju-06 and pitch shifted, sequenced for the bass. and then went to town on control all fx. loving this box. also feel that embracing iOS gives me a foot up on sample fodder/elements/fx.

  • Thanks for sharing your music. Great track. I love those basslines in the background. Watchin this,I get the feeling Digitakt can be used to make Nice and long tracks with evolving ambiences. Been lurking videos all Summer and hesitated seeing folks using it as drum machine mostly. But watching your video now I really want one!. It seems ipad and digitakt could be quite an ideal pair?
.But I would love to read opinions of ipad owners on what the octatrack could offer more. octatracks don't have trig conditions, right? I really want to pick either one but I keep on waiting to make the best choice...

Thanks for watching. The ipad and digitakt are indeed best friends. My workflow has been mostly gadget and building the songs little by little and then soundcloud and onto the next. More time consuming and not as pleasurable to me. With the digitakt i have so many realtime options that it is really quick to do something and even mistakes seem cool.

I am an elektron fanboy so can't disparage any of their stuff but the octatrack is way harder to operate, nevermind master. Had one and sold it. Might pickup a mk2 in the future. If i can. Not sure. No trig conditions, which is a big part of the magic, but it has it's own magic.

The digitakt is fantastic. Could be just a drum machine, and cost/value for the new price with store discount (under 600) it is probably the best drum machine option to me. And then it can do so much more.
