I tried it last night and couldn't get the in-app purchases to work. So I wrote them a note and had a reply from Flavio this morning:

"thanks for reporting the problem with in-app purchases. Because of a technical problem the MIDI and 'pro' in-app purchases are not yet live on the App Store, they should be within today.
I'll let you know as soon as Apple approves them.

Flavio Antonioli."

  • Love this App, but could never get it work without crashes.
Do anyone else have problems with this app, For example I record a track then play back my recording and loope it, after a couple of pass the audio crackes and the app become frozen.

  • Yes, I experienced similar issues so stopped using a while ago. Clicked to see how much the IAP's cost and it asked for my Apple password!!

  • Same here, I stop using it because on the issues, I thought this would be fixed in new version, but it's the same.
As for the App Store I cannot get the prices also.
Hope Flavio reading and would fix these issues.

  • MIDI now available £2.49 (asks you to confirm after password).

  • MIDI ($3.99) includes a scrollable keyboard and 128 instruments or sound effects. Some of these instruments sound a little cheap until you add-in some effects like reverb, tube amp, chorus, etc. The ProAudio ($5.99) has a metronome that can be programmed to change tempos and beats from 4/4 to about anything else. So far it handles multiple effects on multiple tracks a little bit better than previous versions for me (Ipad4) but it's not bullet-proof like Multitrack DAW tends to be. It's kinda fun playing with all the synth keyboard sounds, however, kinda like getting a baby Sampletank thrown into it. The sounds are not the quality of Nave, just basic instrument sounds..
It's not Auria, but it's trying to get there, and way less money.

  • Am I missing something? Because although I can record or import midi I can't get it to go in or out

  • I'm not sure what you mean with "In & out" so here's the latest user manual update regarding MIDI that came out today:

    Working with MIDI
n-Track Studio for iOS lets you record and edit MIDI tracks. It contains a built-in MIDI synth an can send and receive MIDI events via inter-app MIDI to/from other apps, via network MIDI to other devices on the local network, and also record external MIDI keyboards physically connected to the iOS device.
MIDI tracks, instruments and MIDI keyboard
Press the MIDI keyboard button to open the on-screen MIDI keyboard
If the song didn't yet contain any MIDI track, a new MIDI track and an instrument channel will be created.
MIDI tracks contain the sequence of MIDI notes. Instrument channels are where the actual audio from the MIDI notes is generated. Multiple MIDI tracks can send their output to a single instrument channel.
If you want to add a new instrument channel select a MIDI track output channel selection button and select New Instrument
    Recording a MIDI track
Add a new MIDI track, click on the Rec-arm button, select Arm Recording, then press the main record button
You can now play with the onscreen keyboard or with an external MIDI keyboard connected to your device.
    Editing MIDI tracks
You can edit a MIDI track in the Piano Roll window by double tapping on the MIDI track waveform, i.e. the box that shows the MIDI notes. By default it's a small box with no notes on the left side of the track.
The Piano Roll has 3 editing modes:
    add new notes
    move around the Piano Roll
select groups of notes to erase

    I hope that helps!
