iOS11 - Last day making iOS music for a while ?
Tomorrow sees the release of iOS 11
Good luck everyone, let's hope it doesn't cause much disruption.
Comments
Tomorrow huh? I must remember to check that no 'Automatic-Update' setting is turned on.
cheers
The chances of anything coming from (Mars) Cupertino, are a million to one.....and still, they come.
I've been running it for weeks with significant improvements to my workflow. You really think they'd release it to the public with glaring issues?
Some major updates have caused major upheaval with iOS musicmakers. Some have not. I'm definitely not jumping in the water until I am certain there are no sharks.
Well, I use basically every app mentioned on this forum with no issues, but whatever. Suit yourself.
We will
still quite a few apps in my collection which do not start up in AUM with the ios 11 beta...
I am very encouraged to hear about this, and I'm sure you're right. But I will gain literally nothing by updating on Day 1.
Which ones ? To help others who may have the same apps..
Doubleplus this!
My 32bit app list
NanoStudio
Synth X
Flux FX
Sidpad
EPS XS
Interpol
Professor
MorphWiz
Pro Keys
Alchemy
VOX 3000
DROM
GyroSynth
LH Rubbing
Caelestis
You first...
model 15, samvada, addictive pro, tera synth, sidtracker, mobile convolver, alitispace, zmh-1, all of the holderness media, ultraphasor... what i noticed recently
It's not whether each and every app works on 11 but whether they work together.
Some big names on those lists thanks peeps....
keep 'em coming folks...forewarned is forearmed
I usually update sometime between March and May. By then the bugs have been ironed out.... It will be sad to see Alchemy go though.
This looks like a lineup for the second stage at a CMJ show circa 1990. I must say I don't use a single one of the apps.
Running well for me. Just hoping for speedy adoption of the new AU features
Just checking out my Fostex 4 track
The Tascam Portastudio app stopped working many moons ago.
Gutted about flux fx
That app doesn't exist in the Canadian store.
There's also the hardware issue. I have an Air 1 and Mini 2. What are my chances for smooth running on those? (I know the ARKit stuff won't run on the processor, though that's not music related.)
I'm not giving up Alchemy, esp as I had so much trouble restoring. Staying on 10 until I get another iPad.
Can anyone confirm of this causes any problems with an MPK Mini mk2 and a powered USB hub?
Hilariours!
It does hurt to have love for an app thats not gonna carry on.
Only the strong shall survive in ios.
I read on a different thread that Drum Perfect Pro isn't working on iOS 11. The developer said he was working on a compatible version. That was a few days ago.
Why not just wait a while? I will be- but then I'm not fully aware of the downside of hanging off- but I can't imagine it will make any difference for me to update.
What are you going to gain by updating straight away?
Yeh. I totally don't get the hovering over the update button mentality. Like an OS update is going to change your life or something? I really don't give a crap about the update. Will take my time.
Noobs....
I’ve been on iOS 11 for a while. Pretty good Overall. The new features for iPad are awesome. I’m losing 10 apps but I don’t care, all but one are super old and I’m Not using them anymore.
