  • There are more but I can recall the app REALBEAT that has also a cool approach to direct sampling. Believe it's 32bits so get it as long as you can.

  • Beatmaker 3

Your enthusiasm encourages me. Mostly having fun with it on the phone or the pad?

  • Triggler. Brick simple sampling and sequencing of said samples. The icon looks a little ... strange, though.

The controls are a bit trickier to use - but phone mainly.

The Werkbench update had me playing with that one again which was fun, but it made me wish for a version that was easier to use, and one that worked on my phone - and Samplebot pops up the next day.

I've always got my phone on me, and sampling's a simple matter of pointing at something and pressing the record button, so now I can use this instead and build up a sequence from a few snatched noises, and embellish them with internal content if I wish.

Bear in mind though that my use of the iOS platform for music has changed this year. Before I was building up a synth collection and recording into Auria and AUM, and creating finished things. Now I'm not using the iPad at all for music apart from creating bits and pieces for use on the desktop (Komplete/Maschine has completely spoiled me), so having a cracking little sampler/sequencer on the iPhone means it's always on hand to grab a spontaneous sample, and the ease of use means I haven't had to spend a week learning how to use the thing. I think even if BM3 and Werkbench came up with iPhone versions I'd still use this one.

If it gets updated with a few more features - envelope, pitch shifting etc. then it'll get more use for finished stuff, probably on the iPad too.

Encouraged me again. Don't appreciate your continual Komplete/Machine references, but only because I feel the tug (Nurse). No need to add anything further :)

Promise I won’t tell you how good it is again, and how cheap it is compared to iOS when you tot up the number of goodies you get. We won’t say any more about it Boss. My lips are sealed.
