MPK mini mk 2.. help a brother out !
So, I just bought an MPK mini mk 2.. iPad Air 1 on iOS 11.. also purchased one of those cheap, 3 port powered hubs from eBay.. keep getting ‘accessory not supported’ bull crap...
Can anyone recommend a good value powered hub that would fix this, otherwise this keyboard is junk...
Thanks all...

I would just pick one from Amazon's bestseller list...

If you have a PC/Mac, you can connect the keyboard to it, then MIDI out to your iPad via wi-fi or bluetooth. This is just a workaround while you wait to get your problem sorted.
Good luck!
all you need is this CCK Lightning to USB Adapter from Apple
works fine here (version 1 of the MPK mini)
edit: seems not to be the case with the Mk2 Version as stated two posts below
Ok, thanks fellas.. will investigate..
MPK Mini Mk2 requires use of a passive/active usb hub to get around the power draw limitations.
(Mk1 can run directly from CCK)
ah, ok, I didn't know that .. and stand corrected (sorry)
You don't have to use a powered hub. I used the Apple USB-to-lightning adapter and this small USB splitter/hub: https://www.amazon.com/Cute-USB-2-Port-Splitter-Black/dp/B00FJG5T4W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1506112658&sr=8-1&keywords=2+port+usb+hub
It is so small you can leave it connected to the adapter.
That’s perfect thanks Dham
@cabo All good! I only found this out by owning both versions : )
Couldn't resist the black & red edition.... and now tempted by the inverse black & white version of the Mk2 as well....
Great little controllers in my opinion.
My only criticism is that it's a shame that the (really cool) arpeggiator doesn't sync all that well to MIDI clock but I think that could be a USB jitter issue more than a design fault.
Dudes.. do I need a usb2 or 3 ?
Thanks.
