Keyboard players, what do you think?
Just came across this, and wondered what they keyboard wizards here think of the app. Any good for duffers, trying to do a bit of virtual ivory tinkling?

meh.

Oh dear.

I hear what you’re saying. Alas, I cannot afford a real piano, and lack your expertise. So I’m on the look out for something I can handle.
I’m not an expert but piano should have “surface” and “sound” as main features being “shape” the less important (almost if it’s virtualized) so I see this and think “what waste of resources from graphic side”. Then hear the sound and meh arises.
Bismark is simple UI but is amazing for soundfont hosting. Korg gadget has great sounds and look and feel if you need to gig with it. Same BH2, Sampletank, etc...
Why do you expect a wow instead of meh? It doesn’t seems more than a fancy idea to impress friends with the AR instead to perform music...
>
I’m not expecting anything, just canvassing opinion from those who know better. So thank you for your post.
Okay, thanks for that.
This seems geared toward people wanting to learn how to play piano. Looks like a waste of resources to use as a sound module, with all the AR, 3D model and animation, and probably uses real-time rendering of the 3D as well.
You probably already watched this, but these would probably be better used for sound module than the 3D Player Piano.

Thank you, CracklePot.
You're welcome. And I must say I really enjoyed the piano playing by Doug in his video shootout.
Ah, thanks man, and my opinion is that you would be better off getting one of the “proper” piano apps.
>
Thanks, Doug. I have Neo-Soul Keys and iGrand Piano.
You are more then we’ll covered fright there
I’ve got the other Piano 3D app that the same company has done...
Can’t understand why they make another app with the same content (although new graphics)...?
But, I really love the first one, and, have played around with that several hours with a great joy...
>
Thanks, Errka.
Maybe I missunderstood your first smiley? The meh post was more or less useful than my second post. The extra info aside of obviuous (AR without useful utility equal to wasted resources for music) was to point what it’s a common mantram here (Bh2 ivory, korg module, bismark, neo soul keys...) so if this doesn’t adds better features but in oppossite extra cpu load... hello?
Anyways since it seems you like AR almost let’s see a useful application. It’s not for iPad but almost adds some value to the synth proposal.

Regards.
One of the early piano apps. Piano sound is not the best, but it is not the worst, and the graphics are annoying, especially after the engine update, almost end ugh to force a ragedelete. But it is a great place for popular and classical music files, you can split left and right hand, on and off, change tempo and send midi out so you hear ravenscroft but easily learn new and popular or classic piano pieces. It is worth its cost.
Thanks everyone.
The other app is subscription-based beyond a basic free level; this one seems to be a one-off payment (no IAPs). But I can't make out whether it offers the full functionality and library that you pay $38.99 for in the other one.
It seems like good fodder to put into BM3!

Curious, I bought player piano 3d. It is exactly the same app.
Differences between Piano 3D and PP3D:
1. For one time purchase access song library without the need for the 35 eur lifetime payment (i dont do subscription).
2. The player piano sound is horrific (IMHO). P3D has a high reverb concert grandish sweetness. PP3D is jarring.
3. Piano 3D is only 371MB. PP3D is full of ugly and therefore uses 670MB.
So my advice, if you want a sweet reverb long release CG piano go for UVI Beathawk + Grand IAP for that sound or the many great top tier Piano : iGrand, Colossus, Ravenscroft, Module (ymmv)
If you want a midi player with access to a popular song library without going back and forth between ipad and PC or cumbersome browser/file management, that can midi out to a better piano, Piano 3D is the only one out there. There just is no equivalent and it keeps its place in my IPAD. In that case Piano 3D would require you to shell out at minimum €10 for access to midi out and realistically 34€.
So go for the cheaper Player piano 3D. I've deleted it in favour of the older version of the app.
Thanks, Pavel. I have BeatHawk Grand IAP, in addition to the others I mentioned.
