Setup advise
Ok i have my ipad connected to monitors via headphone out, easy peasy.
Now i would like to add hardware effects pedals inbetween that.
What would be a simple and clean way to do this?
-Thx

Just the same way but most pedals are mono
Unless you have some rare, esoteric pedals then the easiest is to use some virtual effects before you output.
Garageband or one of the free guitar amp/fx sims if you don't own any already. They have lots of the basic options for fx pedals and some emulated classics as well.
The traditional way would require some cables and adapters, maybe a splitter to isolate the stereo signal to two mono signals, or a signal summing cable or adapter if you want to go stereo to mono.
Zoom pedals are mostly stereo eg https://m.thomann.de/es/zoom_multi_stomp_ms_70_cdr.htm?gclid=Cj0KCQjw9afOBRDWARIsAJW4nvyItuHi0x4fiEsrh7ytqyg-y6jxMhEBTkLY9w-56n_IbEAe01bfgu0aAp-4EALw_wcB
You'd like to add hardware effect pedals between what?
If you use lightning connector to connect an audio interface which you will ideally need then your easy peasy jack out will stop working and you'll have to plug your monitors into the interface.
Assuming that given audio interface has an audio in you will use that to plug the cable from your hardware pedals.
Probably Line 6 sonic port will suit you best as it comes with a lightning cable and has a big jack in for your guitar lead and a a headphone out for your monitors and a quarter inch jack in case you wanted to run it into more hardware effects.
Then you have your amp sims like Bias or ToneStack for that amp/cab emulation.
Yeah had my eye on the line 6. Virtual efx def a possibility, but that immediate desire to turn a knob with doing a screen change is kinda there.
Thanks for the responses!
Lastly what about connecting a digital effects processor to ipad, any advice?
