Remember the app Concentric

Was waiting for High Sierra to finish installing so I had a little jam with Concentric and AUM and Zeeon and Ripplemaker

Man...I love this iOS platform as a music making tool

  • Cool thanks for sharing

  • Nice work!

I never purchased the IAP but aim to. Is it possible to set a sequence to send CCs alone? Thinking about something where one ring sends notes and another of a different length sends velocity and another of a different length sends cc74...

  • Thanks. I believe it’s on notes that get sent via midi

  • crashes constantly on me

  • Fine app. Creative in a way that gets the simplicity/complexity balance just about right.

  • Happy Accident City

  • Very nice track, and definitely an app I need to look into. Has he implemented the promised snapshot song mode yet?

  • I use this app constantly. Love it for sending out midi to other apps

  • @echoopera Very cool! Thanks for posting that.

For anyone who is interested, I did implement the snapshot song mode. Here's a demo video showing the 'song mode' and auto-rotate:

Unfortunately, it's not ready for release yet. I want to go back and re-write significant chunks of the MIDI sequencing, and that's going to take some time. I've only been able to work on it in fits and starts since the summer.

But thank all for the feedback and support.

Really looking forward to this getting done. Song mode will be a big step forward for some of us...

  • Awesome stuff. Thanks to this @JeffH is about to get my money.

  • Hey Jeff, I hope you stick with it. This is one of my favorite apps!

Jeff, is there any way to sync Concentric to other apps? I think with the song mode and Ableton Link it could become a very useful app for live performance. As it is, it's good for making loops for composition, but a bit too limited to use live.

Please keep us updated. I want to love this one.

ooohh that’s sweet. This is already my go to app for
interesting percussion. This upcoming update is gonna be awesome. It’s gonna be great

  • @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr Still no sync yet, but it's definitely coming (I think the folks at Ableton didn't really expect that iOS developers would be making audio apps with the Swift language, so I'm kind of waiting for a community-wide solution that will allow me to use Link while keeping my audio library intact.) But the snapshot launcher does make it dramatically more useful for playing live.
