Filtering MIDI receive on apps that receive on all ports

I've come across two apps, Syntronik and Beat-Machine, in the last week that receive MIDI on all ports. Syntronik is the worst because it also receives on all channels! Is there any workaround to restrict these apps to only receive on a specific port?

Thanks,

  • I’d also like to know this... I have Midiflow and MidiFire but not sure how to do this.

  • Midifire can do it with the Channel Strip

Midifire can do it with the Channel Strip module.

In this case the app would only accept midi channel 4

  • Thanks for the reply. What is that module plugged into? Is it connected to any inputs or outputs?

  • Asking because as Syntronik is set to automatically receive on all ports before any routing in MidiFire, it will still receive on all ports anyway, right?

  • I will make the check when I am at home and tell you if my setup worked to limit to one channel.the module is called Channel strip.

no, there is no way to intercept MIDI from an app that receives on all ports.
