How To Connect A Behringer XENYX QX1204 USB Mixer As An Audio Interface For Your iPad

Not much to say really, I think the title says it all, I will just say that at the part were I actually overdub I can hear all the tracks in Cubasis whereas you can only hear the part I am playing, so if you are doing this yourself at home you can monitor whilst you record. This only happens like this because I am routing the output of the mixer into the Tascam recorder so the video has audio.

  • I use my xenyx 802 usb into my old G3 iMac.... circuit in one line in iPad in the other and decks via (another) mixer or iPhone into effect return for another channel! :)

  • How is the latency and audio quality on the QX1204? I currently have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and I'm considering adding this mixer to my setup. I don't know if I should keep the Scarlett, or sell it and go straight through USB with the mixer. Wondering how much of a quality and latency hit would be by using the Behringer. Anyone with similar experiences?

I havn’t experienced any noticeable latency but I don’t use it like this very often, I really like this mixer though, in fact I have like all the little Behringer mixers I've had

Hey Doug!! Thanks for making a video about this setup. So would I be able to record six tracks simultaneously with this mixer and Cubasis?
