A bunch on Palm Sounds about a week ago
And on dev's site...

Nice, it's now also on my app store wishlist! I also like that it's available for Android, Windows, Linux & OSX! But before i buy it i have to wait for some youtube videos etc. I really like the works of this developer and the description of this app sounds like a perfect tool for me.... i just hope it's not so hard to understand (for me) like SunVox!
@Galaxyexplorer - the Windows/Mac/Linux versions are free to download from the dev's site, so you can mess with the program before you purchase the iOS version.
I've had it (and SunVox) on my PC for about a week. Really fun apps.
@hwangman: Oh great, thank's! I have to try the windows version then.
Indeed i also like that it support Audiobus and Jack!
Edit: But the best i saw was in the description: "Actually the potential of the program has not been explored yet...." I'm a explorer
Ha, very nice!
Yeah, i've tried both "drawing" in sounds and importing a photo file and having the program generate music based on that shape. Very interesting stuff.
I think this dev has the best model for music apps (making the workstation versions free to use and charging a small fee for the iOS versions).
@Galaxyexplorer plenty of virtual ANS videos here... http://warmplace.ru/soft/ans/
@hwangman: Yes, some others did that too like blip interactive with NanoStudio.
(...but i still wait for new projects until my new workstation called iPhone 5s will arrive... next week i hope).
But "Alexander Zolotov" apps are cross platforming which is great i think. (But seems that as usual Android has less features).
@Trueyorky: Thank you... i also heard some soundcloud pieces minutes ago... i buy it now! This app can create great atmospheric sounds + Audiobus & Jack support makes it one of the most interesting apps since a while for me! Have to explore a new galaxy of sound soon
@Everyone: How playable is it with its interface? Does it require another app in order to play it?
@Galaxyexplorer Could you post a link to the soundcloud pieces? I'm looking for all examples I can find, because I like to hear very well what it is capable of before purchasing.
Thanks all!
Think atmospheric, label under 'off the wall'. I bought it last night - it processes vocals really well and is perfect through AudioBus. Check the website for sounds, videos and instructions.
@Audiojunkie: You should look the videos on the home page which Trueyorky mentioned above!
I bought it now and i really love it.... the only dealbreaker is how to get images inside... i-tunes (sucks) or wi-fi... also not the best way. I wish there is a way to import direct images as sound source from the camera roll. I'm sure on windows, linux and android it's better. File sharing of any kind is always a hard way on iOS. But making photos and using it diect as a sound source would be a really interesting thing for me... but with i-tunes.... nah!
Will it work with Open In?
Seems not to work.... damn... i hope it's possible in an update! Those apps are better for more open OS
I'm using it both as a synth, and as an effect (pasting audio into Virtual ANS, copying the result, and pasting into Audioshare). Alexander is a unique talent, and Virtual ANS is a lot more versatile and usable than one might think at first blush. Definitely a secret weapon!
Also, it's working well for me on both iPad 3/iOS 6.1.2 and iPhone 5/iOS 7
You guys getting any sound issues thus far? I'm using the PC version, but no matter what photo i import, i get insane amounts of static/crackling during playback. I've cropped out the highest-end of the spectrum and lowered my sampling rate, but anything that occupies space above C5 seems to generate the noise.
Yea I had a tough time last night too but I have an iPad 2. Also tried lowering the sample-rate
I have this (sometimes) on my iPhone5 too also on the high octaves! Not sure if it's cpu hungry as hell. But i had no problems with the demos just after i draw myself a "picture". Perhaps too much? But at the other side i used it with audiobus as input (+ 2 other synths) audioreverb in the fx slot and aufx:dub as output in the 256 mode... no problems. Have to check this out again. But in general i love this app. Great for creating mysterious atmospheric backgrounds and dark drones
I also had more luck when i "drew" in some sounds manually, but anything that crept towards C5 started sounding terrible again. Just a surprising limitation. I guess i'll keep lowering the sample rate (i think i had it at 24k at last glance) and see if i can get to a point w/o the audio issues.
I've been having some of the staticy issues that everyone seems to have with my ipad mini. Even when running it on it's own and just drawling my own "pictures" I get the static, but knocking down the sample rate to 32k or 22k helps. Either way it's fun as hell, and I can see myself using it in some ambient/cinematic pieces that I've been wanting to flesh out.
If you think that your CPU is too slow for the current ANS project - please try to change the Project Height (not Width!) or the Sampling Rate.
For Windows users: i recommend to change default sound system (DirectSound) to ASIO in the Settings -> System -> Audio.
The Project Width and the Number of Octaves does not affect the ANS performance.
And please don't hesitate to ask any questions to me directly: [email protected]
I've tried using it as a spectral editor for songs to remove background noises however when I import it always sound 8 bit quality. Any suggestions on how to get it sounding like the original file so I can use it as a spectral removal tool?
oh, that would be great!!! like Iris for cheap. Yet better would be a tool that goes form image to sound, but with good sounding synths. There is nothing around (2caudio has something, but not really there yet or MAX...)
