  • What about WiFi (Ableton Link)?

  • Can anyone confirm? Is this beta in the wild yet?

    Nice!

Not so fast. Let's see how it performs in the wild.

  • Man, this is nice to come home from the ER to
Couldn’t eat Canadian thanksgiving dinner with my fam so hopefully I will be very thankful for this gift from apple ( if it fixes issues)

There are a couple bugs in the new tagtool animation app (no show stoppers at all, and it’s a very cool live animation tool) but the reason I mention it is that the dev of that app says the bugs are related to ios11 and have already been fixed in the latest ios11 beta. He says to hold tight and wait for the next big ios11 update that should drop at the end of this month.

  • I've had it up and running for a few hours on the 10.5 making a video of Quantum, recording it back on the Mac, where it's driving the Arturia Prophet - no dropouts after several hours. Fingers crossed :/

  • I wonder if this update will also solve the audio unit memory issues on the new pros. Able to check @Aud_iOS?

    It's a great question.

First I've read about this one, or I forget... either way, send me a link etc and I can try to replicate.

@Aud_iOS There’s this thread about the issue: https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/20439/trouble-starting-several-au-instances/p1

It seems like the new pros aren’t (weren’t?) able to handle as many loaded AUs in hosts like BM3/cubasis or AUM as older devices like an ipad air 2 for example.

Okay - I read the thread, and the linked dev. thread. Reads like the issue results from the single process/Ram required for the larger screens to render~ seems to explain the issue. I actually don't have any of the affected apps listed throughout the post. The "Correct" response on the dev. thread makes sense in these regards. There's nothing in the release notes tho ~ so my guess is the issue still exists until the AU stuff is "modified' etc.

  • Cool - thanks for looking into it @Aud_iOS.
Hopefully this will be resolved soon.

  • It was fixed in AUM in the version that came out as IOS 11 was released a couple of weeks ago.

Anyone else ordering a new Pro now that Apple has at the very least acknowledged the problem and probably fixed it? Been holding off on a 12.9" 256 until this moment. Hopefully 11.1 isn't too far off.

I was going to return or sell my iPad Pro 12.9 until I read the news that Apple will fix the latency and audio issues on iOS 11.1. This is good news. Now my iPad Pro 12.9 is for keeps. I am now glad I bought my iPad Pro when I did because Apple increased the price of them a few weeks ago.

That’s good to hear. I’ve had my 12.9 512gb Pro for all of 3 weeks and I was on the verge of buyers remorse at first due to audio issues. I was afraid I ended up with flawed hardware., it was the side effect of installing iOS 11 — just found out that apparently ios 11 re-indexes your entire device in the background for the first few days/week , which was causing some major clicks and audio dropouts in all my audio apps up until a couple days ago.

    Now it’s as good as gold. Truly a beast of a tablet, made especially awesome with the Apple Pencil helping to make accurate adjustments on tiny knobs/etc such a breeze. Easily one of my all-time favorite computers so far. Love it;

Ps. First time I’m hearing of price increase. Definitely lucky to get in early!
Just checked Best Buy , it’s now $1150 for the 512gb 12.9 .. Got mine, brand new , last month at Best Buy for $999 , which was much less than I could find anywhere else at the time.
