For now No....you can only load synths and play it with midi if you want.....for other thing you need to use Audiobus like before IAA....
You can always sample on one track, and load the file later into the sampler.
I'd like to know if you can edit bounds in the keyboard sampler?
Right now you have to trim the file and that pisses me off
I'm not a big Keyboard Sampler User, I use much more DrumSampler in BM2, But I can see that you can open and edit sample in KeySampler....and now it recognized if it lose one file....
Edit BOUNDS not SAMPLE. Bounds is a non destructive edit. Start & End point.
It would be useful for a multisampled keyboard instrument. You have 1 wav with all the notes in a key, and you map the same wav for different notes.
It has been submitted!
Actually submitted this time.
BeatMaker 2.5 has been submitted! Should be available on the @AppStore soon. We're bringing IAA along other features http://bit.ly/14LFdUf

I love music making on my iOS device, but sometimes I get a little bugged with waiting for one app or another app to update with feature ____. I realized the other day how ridiculous this was when I got the Auria update, loaded it up, realized how far away that functionality is from the experience audiobus offers, closed that down and went right back to recording in BM2 via AB, and was instantly back in iOS recording heaven. "Just shut up and play" was the lesson I took away from that. Still, I just punched a hole in my drywall when I thought about having to wait another two weeks to play with this in BM2.
Might be title of your next song "Hole In My Wall".
But I can say that IAA in BM2 works very good.....not buggy like Auria...
I like the work of Rim but this time I think he have going to much speed...
Mathieu going slowly but make better job
I think some perspective in all this is a good thing to have. BM2 and basically all other DAW type apps have all kinds of boundaries that limits the user in many ways. Auria does not, it is wide open, no limits kinda thing in basically all regards. It leaves it all up to the user to manage the resources. If IAA doesn't work well for you in Auria, you need to adapt and change how you handle the system recourses available. Auria is one app that will not babysit you and your iPad.
/Auria Automatic Defence Squad signing off
@Synapsia:you forgot just one thing to compare it on the same level:Auria delivers IAA effects,BM2 don't ;-)
@Sinapsya: Is iMini MIDI working perfectly in BeatMaker 2.5 via IAA? I had to use FreEWI to get iMini working with BM2 in the past.
As for IAA effects, being able to use the AUFX apps as send effects would be killer. Retronyms said they're working on an IAA effects device for Tabletop. Maybe Intua will beat them to it.
One thing that annoys me about BM2 is the lack of AudioCopy. Every major iOS music app supports it except BM2. I was hoping to see support for AudioCopy 2 in this update.
@Crabman I know I'm an old Auria user since the begin, I mastered all my 'Boards of Rome' Album in Auria (But I compose in BM2) and I like RIM work, but I think this time is not ready for user. Need more Debug.
@PHᐃNTᐃSM iMini compare only with midi output, I don't know why but I think depends Retronyms midi implementation (you can't set midi channel of iMini), iSEM works perfect.
About Effect IAA, Mathieu say me to add in 2.5.1 because he to test much more.
For Audiocopy, Beatmaker pastboard is created before sonoma's pastboard, I know Audiocopy 2 is better and I think to ask him for add (and I need File Browser for edit and Delete files too).
Intua kind of invented audiocopy, right? I understand that it was perfected by Sonoma, but I think Intua were the first dudes at that party.
and +1 on ANY improvements to the file browser in BM2. And we should be able to delete sound banks. And we should be able to delete a track easier. And...and...
So, i went from Nanostudio to Cubasis.
Any reason i should check this out now??
@Kloon, honestly it's way to subjective to tell. If you're happy in Cubasis then I'm not sure why you'd want to try BM2. If you didn't have either I'd definitely tell you to check out BM2 first since it's less than half the price and offers better functionality (that last part is totally my opinion and I'm sure there will be plenty of folks chime in that disagree). What BM2 has that Cubasis doesn't. Chop Lab lets you chop up samples and assign them to pads or keys. Better midi editor imo (maybe just because I'm way more used to it). Effects in BM2 aren't that much better than Cubasis really. Cubasis has those handy midi patterns to help get you started. That and the wonderful ui are the only reasons I ever open Cubasis. BM2 does a little better with midi clock, but honestly, they're all pretty abysmal with the state of midi as of iOS6. Hopefully that's changing sooner than later. Not sure I helped you at all, but there are my two cents yet again.
Yeah, BM2 excels at sample editing/manipulation. If your production workflow is heavy on sampling, BM2 is by far the best option on iOS.
Cheers guys for your input!
At Today, Beatmaker 2, is the best rock solid DAW on iOS, but it's only my opinion.
Ps: I own all iOS DAW: Auria, Cubasis, Meteor, Garage Band, Multitrack Daw, Nanostudo, Tabletop.
That's not a comprehensive list of all the DAWs. Not by a long chalk...
@PaulB, really? Name some others please. I don't really consider apps like Nanostudio and Looptical to be DAWs honestly. Are there others?
Sure there are. Xewton Music Studio, Studio HD and N-Track, for starters. That's off the top of my head without typing 'multitrack' into the App Store search engine. I'll let you do that. Lol
Also Studio 2.
How funny is this...I actually own MusicStudio...lol. Had no idea...hahaha. That's app overload right there. Studio HD was a cool little app too. It's too bad it went the way of the dinosaur.
All we need now is a comprehensive DAW....
@Wettiphenax I agreed you, for little bit second audio go out, I listen now....sorry, because I use it in background only for record a synth, and after I stop and comeback to work on BM2.....but yes you are right.
@Wettiphenax I have send now an email to Mathieu about this bug....when I have a reply I post it...
I haven't repeatedly checked so compulsively for an
app update since BM2 got Audiobus...
@Sinapsya: So, sending MIDI from BM2 to iMini still requires FreEWI even while using iMini as an IAA instrument in BM2.5?
@PHᐃNTᐃSM, AppShopper.com is your friend. Of course, if you have automatic updates on, that will beat out AppShopper. I love getting my updates from AppShopper. Someone else here turned me onto it the last time I was doing the same dance you're doing now. I do believe it's going to be at least another week though. (if the posters here are correct, it was only just submitted on the 14th)
@PHᐃNTᐃSM I don't know why, but BM2 midi setup iMini compare only as Output....before this don't compare nothing, now only this....
II think depends of Retronyms...because with Lemur have no note input problem
