Backing tracks - best apps?
Hello everyone.
I play guitar and I need to create dozens of backingtracks urgently (bass, keyboards and metal), with quality and without much complication. I have an iPad 2 Mini 32Gb with iOS11. What is the best app for this?
Thanks

Backing tracks of your own composition, or covers of existing songs?
Re-edit Covers (exclusive versions)
So you create the backing tracks?
IMO GarageBand. Or Cubasis if that turns out to be too limited.
Yes. The idea is to use existing midi files, re-editing some instruments, in order to give another mood in the music. (but without complicating much, trying to appear more acoustic and less mechanical).
I'm exactly looking for an alternative between GB and Cubasis.
MidiBand, Modstep, infinite looper...
There is not an professional arranger app (afaik) in iOS yet.
Aside the above I will advice once again GroupTheLoop with exported audio from the desktop app of your choice that can you give what you need...
Midiband is perfect and working in IOS11. I sent the Deb Kateryna a message and she said that AB3 is in the works so stay tuned!
hum, and what about beatmaker, fruityloops or genome midi sequencer?
I've recently had good luck with Modstep (with help from Sidecar and Midifire):

Well if you’re good at programming everything then yeah Modstep, Cubasis, BM3 etc will do. But with Midiband you just load up a midi file of the song you wanna make and then within Midiband you chop up the parts you want for verse, Chorus, etc and then play it back in realtime as you select fills, variations etc. Roland Sound Canvas app works great. Also there are countless midi style files online for free which you can use as templates too.
SESSION BAND might do it.
Personally though - if you happen to have a mac or PC - and can afford it the best out there is by far - Band In A Box.
Create them in BIAB - you can export from BIAB to a Stereo WAV/MP3 or other format. Plus export the stems ( separate tracks ) too.
Thanks @lukesleepwalker , @MusicMan4Christ , @nonchai
Wow, there are three very different suggestions. I'll research about it.
thank you

Don’t know anything about it but there’s a free lire version to try
Last time I help anyone
Just kidding
Keep going! I’m also interested on more info on this topic!
Lol
Hi @BiancaNeve , I believe that Loopy HD would do the same (or even better) because it could use simultaneous tracks. But thank you for the suggestion.
BIAB is my personal favourite but also ChordPulse (also PC based but a lot cheaper than BIAB).
If we are talking IOS then ChordBot is also pretty good.
I don’t think so as this one lets you build up a song from loops then a set from songs don’t think loopy can do that.
if I cut a backingtrack in up to 12 parts and import it into Loopy, just run cc # the track it will play at a time.
Correct, Loopy doesn't do sets but Loopy Pro (eventually, god willing) will. We can see the MIDI PC support showing in Samplebot!
I wasn't aware of Stage Looper; thanks for the tip on that one...
Yamaha Mobile Music Sequencer is an Option to look at.
It includes various Styles plus Sounds.
You can create own styles and modify Exusting ones.
Steinberg should integrate this into Cubasis, that would really be cool.
very interesting. I agree with you ;-)
If you consider loopyHD for whatever reason related backing tracks I encourage you to check GroupTheLoop....
I did not seriously think of Loopy as a BT Player, I just linked Stage's logic in running sequential mini-tracks.. GroupTheLoop work better.
Both are amazing apps but the song structure of GTL makes it more suitable for backing (audio) tracks. It has a slow development but the promised features and shared snapshots makes me confident about its success.

Thanks brother. Good alternative certainly (y)
We are all in the same musical boat
Completely agree on this. But it's the little things that don't quite click in current GTL (like the ability to use just two buttons to move forward/back through sections. I look forward to any update that is coming in the future as I think the app has great promise, especially for verse/chorus and backing track contexts.
@lukesleepwalker totally agree... my luck is I’m not in hurry for anything but I’m truly considering building a launchfootpadal
I also have spare parts for bass foot pedal waiting for some nice arranger (better than midiband) to make me lust...
I should finish my keytar asap, too many internet is killing me.
